He is being overrated in that respect because sc featured other players who did just the same. Brandon Wallace wasnt exactly a cheeseball there you know.
The fact Balkman sold himself during the sec & nit tourney times is what won him over. He was just noticable, a guy who hustled and did the dirty work, lil things. Much like Jerome Williams in the NBA. Guy who chases down a rebound like an actor or blocks a shot and recieves an ally oop dunk at the other end. Crowd gets hype, commentators notice and his name becomes more constant. That is all. He is a solid role player, energy guy but those are reserved for the 2nd round not #20.
Atleast take him at 29 and pick a better player/prospect with 20 where you can either use or trade along with someone in a pacakge to make the team better. Why not take Marcus Williams and see who is interested? Why not keep him and make plans to get rid of Francis or Marbury? Getting the BPA at 20 gives you options. Real simple unless you're Isiah.
