Default Should the Nets blow it up?

John Hollinger wrote this article.

now prior to the season when the team has not played yet, Krstic was well rested and the bench was ready to go, training camp was well, Hollinger comes in and says this team is done, no team can be lucky enough to be so healthy, etc...

when you start the season, you view things ceteris paribus from the previous season.

he got EXTREMELY lucky on the injury front.

but anyway, now that it has happened, and that it now appears that it is not about a lack of energy but rather inferiority of the team as a whole, do you think Hollinger has a good point?

blowing up this team may yield better future dividends, possibly even Greg Oden? who knows? but the point continues to be: if all that were to happen. Trade Carter for picks, young big men and shooters, etc.. and against all odds get Oden or Noah, then with the current rookies build for Brooklyn.... how would this sit with Kidd and RJ? RJ will go to surgery and get 100% again, but will Kidd be willing to play for a loser? at $18 million this season, you can't just tell him to take a year off, and he does not want to leave the New Jersey area...

this is a dilemma. the team is already losing money, and if the draft does not yield a high quality big man then everything is bust. but Hollinger brings up a good point. keeping this current squad static may prove unwise as everyone else gets younger and better...

I think we as Nets fans should brake into Hollinger's house and kick his ***. No seriously. Rod Thorn is all about trusting his players and he beleives in them, but if he really thinks he can go to war with this team he is nuts. Just trade away Jason Kidd, and Vince Carter now while they still have value and before another one of Hollinger's prophesy comes true and rebuild for brooklyn. If Kidd doesn't want to go, well too bad the NBA is a bussness. Thorn tried really hard to make this team work, but somebody needs to go. Of course I'd never be saying that if Nenad was still around for the year, but things change fast in this league. I'm thinking trade Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Jason Collins (for the fun of it) and rebuild. That's what we need to do, and if you are expecting a comeback season and a cinderella story, just watch college hoops or football.
