I also saw a tweet about how her VMA performance was just a disturbing juxtaposition of childhood innocence (the teddy bears) and the fame-fueled sexualization of women (her being a whore on stage). I don't necessarily believe that was her intent but it is interesting to consider.

The other ultra popular artists like Eminem or Lady Gaga aren't infatuated with making the absolute most money out of their gig.

These people seem to be conscious of credibility. Sure they want to sell big, but they also want to be taken serious. There's a balance.

Miley on the other hand wants to make as much money as possible, party like crazy, and get as much attention as she can. That's great. But she will never be a credible artist because of it. Nobody is impressed with her music or what she is doing other than misguided moron teens.

Miley made a comment that made me cringe. Said something about how she wanted everything she does from here on out to be "dope" IT HAS TO BE DOPE OR I THROW A TANTRUM. Anyone see her throw a tantrum before the VMA's? Who respects that? She's a perfectionist in the wrong way. She wants her IMAGE to be perfect.. and is going about it by targeting young dumb losers.

Call her a marketing genius... whatever. But what's the point when no one really respects you or takes you serious?
