Default I found a solution to the Larry Hughes problem!!!!!!!

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...22~4&te=&cash=

Gets us a center and 12mill off the books next season! However if Gordon is traded for a legit BIG MAN--then keep Hughes and let him start.

I would rather have Hughes around to give us an occasional 20 point game and another big guard off the bench than trade him for Raef and completely waste the $12.7 million. Raef is worse than every big man we currently have on the roster, so how would this help?

im down if portland is, but raef would be perfect in portlands rotation, i would do it in a heartbeat if raefs contract was an expiring one after this year

Portland has so much young talent right now. They are not trying to add salaries, cause they know they're going to have some big pay days coming up.

Portland wants to drop that 12 million dollar contract asap. They are not going to trade that away to get an extra year of 12 million. Chicago would have to give them something to make them want to do that. Something like a first round draft pick, which even then is probably not going to happen.

co-signed... besides Hughes isn't young... the Blazers only take in young players... :)

The solution is for him to shoot a higher percentage and make sure he is in attack mode at the rim. If he can average 12-15ppg the bulls may be ok at SG. He needs to run off screens and maybe even do some isolations for him cause he can get to the rim.

Post Re: I found a solution to the Larry Hughes problem!!!!!!!

I think the solution is for him to be mired on the bench and for Thabo to develop into what Hughes was 5 years ago (without the injury problems). He also needs to stop shooting 3-pointers so often. He's under 30% for his career (though he has improved in recent years), and his overall shooting % goes up 25 points if you take the 3-pointers out of the equation. He attempted 2.5/game last season. I would like to see that number either go down, or his % go up. Gordon's numbers are better than his in every category except for steals, and I think their defensive effect is about equal.

So, the ultimate solution is to cut Hughes, take no cap hit, and sign Gordon to a 2-year deal for less money. Will never happen, but I like it.
