How come Melo, Love, Bosh etc are "empty stats" when they dont win, but not Kobe?
When you put a guy like Melo, Bosh, Love etc. on teams that can't win in the playoffs, and they put up monster stats, everyone says "empty stats, doesn't mean anything, overrated" etc.
But when Kobe was the undisputed first option between the Shaq and Pau eras, this is exactly what happened to him. Big stats, no success.
Only when he was playing with stacked teams was he part of any championships. Now Chris Bosh is playing with a stacked team. How are they any different? Kobe scored more points on his title teams, Bosh played better defense. If you put Melo or Love with a prime Shaq, they're gonna win titles too. Those are players that can only win on stacked TEAMS. Which is true of most guys in the league, obviously.
Point being, Kobe is really NOT a special player. He's a volume scorer who makes really difficult shots. That's not basketball impact. Guys like Duncan, Lebron, Durant, Howard, CP3 have all had more success with weak rosters because they are better basketball players than Kobe.
I'm sorry, I know you guys like to create heroes and legends and stuff, and go with the cool narrative that the guy who has "five rings" must be borderline top 10 all-time, but the reality is that Kobe's prime is in the same tier as Bosh, Melo, Love, Harden, Arenas, Gasol, and players like that.
He's not a true difference maker, and the idea that Kobe Bryant is anywhere near the Top 10 of alltime basketball players is
Comparing resumes is for the dumb fans who can't talk basketball so they talk accolades. Kobe is the dumb fan's champion.

Kobe actually led the Lakers to Playoffs every season he wasn't injured, unlike Love & Bosh.
Kobe, on his last legs, played 40+ minutes every damn night & even played 48 minutes on many of them to WILL us to the Playoffs last season. He went down twice with a knee injury during the Warriors game & he didn't give up & even went to shoot the free throws when he completely ruptured his achilles & could barely walk.
People like you are flat out disgusting & a disgrace to any basketball forum. Looking for a reason to hate on The Great One.
Like your boy Lebron said "All the people that were rooting for me to fail… at the end of the day, tomorrow they have to wake up and have the same life that (they had) before they woke up today,” James said. “They got the same personal problems they had today. And I’m going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things I want to do."
That also applies to The Great One. He will continue to live a superstar lifestyle while you sad little haters, who spend your potential on hating on The Great One, achieve nothing.

Kobe < Fisher.
See how easy it is to spew some bullshit to support an agenda? Objectively, Kobe is not NEARLY the player people like to build him up to be.

Kobe is a myth created by the NBA and casuals swallow it up

I think you hate Kobe more than anyone else in the world. I don't even think it's a stretch to say that.

As far as his "greatness" this really is true. He is not a uniquely dominant talent like Shaq, Jordan, Bron, Kareem, Duncan, Magic, etc.
Kobe is a tier well below them. He's Iverson, Tmac, Love, Melo, Arenas, Harden, Bosh, except he played for a team with great management and deep pockets, which the others never had the chance to do.
Kobe is more circumstance than commodity.

I'm pretty sure most NBA players can do 35/5/5 with enough shots.

But they can't. Otherwise JR Smith and Brandon Jennings would be All-stars.
