The body shape def looks completely absurd, but I do like the unpainted steel... kind of gives it a delorean vibe, which seems fitting for a vehicle called "cybertruck".
I'm currently in the market for a new electric daily driver, and I placed an order for a model 3 a couple weeks ago... but I kinda want to cancel that and order this amazing monstrosity instead.
While the design looks absurd, I think that's the point. The best selling vehicles in the US for years are F150s and the four runner ups are always trucks. The truck market is worth $100 billion annually. So Tesla has to set itself apart and be jarring to stand out.
MKBHD talked about this and I like his point about Apple. Apple does the same thing in smaller terms. Like the Air Pods. The design of them looked weird first coming out. People made fun of them. Now they're everywhere and a recognizable brand just be looking at them making more money than any other headphone/earbud on the market.
