Next REALLY tall star - Message Board Basketball Forum

I was just watching Manute Bol highlights man does he look dominate got me thinking when is the next extremely tall star gonna come around? I can only really think of 2 big guys (im talkin 7-4 and up) that have been somewhat dominate, Bol and Yao. When you see guys like Ming Ming and Kenny George it makes you see what a phenominal athlete Yao is compared to these other guys and how skilled he is.

I know that Hasheem Thabeet is "only" 7'3", but how about considering him?

Thabeet is probably gonna be somewhat good but I don't know anyone else that tall unless you count Roy Hibbert

I'm not saying he'll be a star (I don't believe that he will), but if Rik Smits was an all-star, why not Hibbert? I think they are very similar players and Hibbert actually has a better court vision and passing ability. In the end of his career Smits was a better shooter than HIbbert is now, but I think Hibbert can be a really good shooter for a center.

Kenny George has part of his foot ampuated so he might not even play this year.

Thabeet and Hibbert don't count. Bynum is about their size.

Maybe if he makes it to the L somehow he might actually be taller than Bol and Muresan? Yeah that guy is a freaking giant! Makes everybody else on the court look like midgets!
