Obviously this would work best with Gooden, but seeing as he has always had a streaky 15 footer, as well as the times when he's sitting on the bench and you dont really have much other options if you want to continue the pick and roll... Chicago should explore trade options if by 20 games into the season its not working.
This pick and roll mainly works best with a Center because alot of the times other defensive centers wont want to guard a big guy way out on the perimiter and feels its his job to protect the basket from the guard. Also, it works extremely well when your PF or C is a good passer. He can get Deng, Gordon, or Hughes either on the perimiter, or cutting to the basket. Gooden, Noah, or Thomas aren't really good enough passers to make that work.
