I don't think Toronto would make that trade. Makes no sense.

They fill the PG hole yes, but create a hole at SG that would be far larger than the one they had at PG.

The Raptors won't trade Mopete for Knight. He's the best defender, shooter, and basically the leader of the team.

There's a plethora of reasons for Toronto not to make the trade.

MoPete is another unheralded character. on who is better, it matters what you think is better. I take MoPete if I want a good SG for the next 3-5 yeras. I take Brevin Knight if i want to contend now.

How old is brevin? How many years does he conceivably have left in the tank?

He's like 30 yrs old. He probably has a good 3 years left in him, 4 or 5 tops.

he's got atleast 2 more years of going out there everyday and being a threat for 15-17 assists every game. he's a savvy veteran. the other question you have to ask is are the raptors ready to win now? and i have to say yes for the regular season and no probably swept out of the 1st round for the playoffs. the raps are too young for success. they need to take their lumps for 2-3 more years and by that time knight won't be the same threat. in the mean time, knight can make a winner out of the raptors for 82 games.

The Raptor management knows that the fans are sick of losing seasons, but they know the fans are smart enough not to expect greatness immediately. If the Raptors don't make the playoffs next year, it will be tough, but if they have a repeat of this season, heads could roll.

How do you guys still lose?

If Bosh was half as good as y'all thought you'd think they would be able to make the playoffs in the East. Plus Mike James had a killer year, Mo Pete is serviceable, everyone is on Villy's jock, you'd think you could at least sneak in at #8.

Everything you stated only has to do with one side of the game, and that side is offense, where the Toronto Raptors were one of the highest scoring teams in the league. However, it doesn't show how bad of a defensive and rebounding team we are. The scoring, where Bosh - James - Villaneuva - Peterson, all excel is not the problem at all, and every Raptor fan would tell you that. We struggle and lose games because of our defense. We lost numerous games down the stretch last year because we couldn't defend, and because of poor execution late in games by Mike James.

If we ever get a half decent defensive squad together, the Raptors record will improve vastly, a little experience wouldn't hurt either, the team is still extremely young and is learning every day. The effort and desire is there, the wins will come, something I as a fan have faith in.

Toronto had NO CENTER. When hoffa played (often in the first few months) he actually detracted from the team. Going 0 for 5 or 0 for anything every time, getting 1 rebound, picking up 3 fouls in 2 minutes and not playing a lick of defense.

As for mike james, sure he scored alot, but so does marbury. Does marbury help teams win? Very little of the scoring came in the flow of the game, and mike was the wall that stopped bosh from getting into a flow. Charlie was good, but his defense was lacking. Bosh missed 11 games, during which the raptors lost 10.

If you erase november, where they were 1-15, they were 26-40. Erase the last 11 games, and they were 25-30, or .450. Still, those are not good, and you can't erase anything because what happened HAPPENED.

Edit: Pistol Pete explained the defensive problem well.

Heh, we didn't take offense, but I find explaing the reasons why the Raptors suck a GREAT way to avoid writing my paper on US / Iraq relations.

I have an OT question. When you use a '/' do you put a space before and after it? Or not?

i.e. he has both an inside/outside game
he has both an inside / outside game

And does it matter if the slash is used in a common phrase?

i.e. and/or
and / or

You don't need to use a space.
