Grinder thanks for all the results keep them coming!Isn't that jersey that Rudy's wearing oden's? it's about 5 sizes too big!
Berraco hopefully you are right about Barret, yes Creus deserves to be given the benefit of the doubt and yes Mallet has done really well for DKV.But DKV tend to have a good eye,Barton,Jagla, etc or have an ability to make players play well like Jasaitis who did nothing at TAU or Maccabi.Barca tend not to do any of those things.see Shammond Williams,Bootsy Thornton, and the rest.I hope I am wrong but I think Barret will join the huge list of nothing yanks that have played in Barcelona.Oh and yes what happened to the biggest who-the-hell-is-this-guy-player ever, Gary Neal?

I mean, you never know how these kind of players are going to perform. At least let's see how the guy plays the initial games. But people with such a knowledge of basketball like Aito, Creus, etc deserve always the benefit of the doubt for their decissions. And in the PG spot, if Creus thinks this guy can be any good and an upgrade over last year's Lakovic(!!!), I would bet my money on him.
Gary Neal is now in Treviso, and I really don't understand why

Lakovic at the beginning of the season was great, but when xavi pascual took over he disappeared.he will go somewhere else and light up the place as usual.Barca struggle to bring out the best from players. On a positive note Vasquez has looked good, though for what he has been getting paid it's about time.

Vazquez is surprisingly outplaying Andersen, or at least that's the impression I've got. I don't know how long will last this, though. Fran's is non-consistent by nature.

I think they should play both. Lakovic,Navarro,Ilyasova,Vazquez and Andersen.
That would be a pretty big team too. They will probably play Barret, navarro,Barton,Ilyasova,Andersen. They are both good sides. Not good enough to win the euroleague though. Not with Pascual, that's not a dig at him,he just doesn't have the experience.

I haven't read it (I can't access Marca from my office), but there has been talks about that since some years ago. I wouldn't like it at all. I think the format domestic league/European competitions is really good for all.

On a side note, just read that Barça inked Dani Santiago. That's really good for them, the couple Andersen/Santiago will make a lot of damage in the paint.

Yes I saw that. If it's the good santiago yes,if it's the bad santiago , screwed!!He is either very good or very poor! hopefully at barca he will have a good rotation with trias, vazquez and andersen, even ilyasova so they won't depend too much on him when he is having one of the bad days.Good team so far.let's hope they finally win the acb it has been to long!!!

Barça 81 - Fortitudo 76

Fortitudo: Marcelinho Huertas 4 pts (2/2 2p), Jamont Gordon 10 pts (2/4 2p, 2/6 3p), Stefano Mancinelli 12 pts (4/11 2p, 0/2 3p, 4/6 ft), Alessandro Cittadini 11 pts (4/6 2p, 1/1 3p), Matteo Malaventura 0 pts (0/1 2p, 0/2 3p), Uros Slokar 5 pts (1/1 2p, 1/1 3p), Joseph Forte 8 pts (3/6 2p, 0/4 3p, 2/2 ft), Qyntel Woods 26 pts (7/14 2p, 2/6 3p, 6/7 ft)

Barcelona: Gianluca Basile 0 pts (0/1 2p, 0/3 3p), Andre Barrett 15 pts (3/5 2p, 1/1 3p, 6/6 ft), Jordi Trias 2 pts (1/3 2p), Lubos Barton 9 pts (3/3 2p, 1/4 3p), Jaka Lakovic 4 pts (0/1 2p, 1/1 3p, 1/2 ft), David Andersen 12 pts (4/5 2p, 1/3 3p, 1/2 ft), Xavier Rey 3 pts (1/1 2p 1/2 ft), Fran Vazquez 13 pts (6/11 2p, 1/2 ft), Nihad Djedovic 3 pts (1/2 3p), Ersan Ilyasova 13 pts (3/4 2p, 1/1 3p, 4/4 ft), Victor Sada 3 pts (0/1 2p, 1/1 3p), Roger Grimau 4 pts (1/4 2p, 0/1 3p, 2/2 ft)

Barça played without newly acquired big man Daniel Santiago and JC Navarro, while Fortitudo played without big man Earl Barron. A big three and free throws from Andre Barrett won this game. Amazing how a mediocre player like Qyntel Woods can dominate at this level sometimes.

I think DKV is the team to watch out for this season. The first game against Barça should be interesting although Rubio and JC Navarro won't be playing for their teams.

I'm guessing DKV's lineup will be:
PG: (Rubio) / Mallet
SG: Ribas / Wright
SF: Jasaitis / Bogdanovic
PF: Mensah-Bonsu /Jagla
CT: Norel / Hernandez

and Barça:

PG: Barrett / Lakovic
SG: (Navarro) / Basile
SF: Ilyasova / Barton
PF: Andersen / Trias
CT: Vasquez / (Santiago)

I'm looking forward to see Pops playing a full season here. Now, DKV's success will depend a lot on the capabilities of Sito Alonso as a head coach, on which I'm not totally sold. But again, he has worked a lot with Aito and he knows the game. And the same was said about Joan Plaza and he managed to win the ACB in his first season in Real Madrid, so I will wait until they play at least 10 games to really judge him.

here we go again.ye of little faith in dkv!! last year you said they were no good and they won the spanish cup and the uleb, with fernandez who you reckon is only an ok player.I think in the euroleague they will win more games than they will lose.they wont get to last 8 though.
As for barca Grinder by what you say Barrett had a great game so the same that you said about woods applies to him!!

All the respect to Ricky Rubio but Rudy Fernandez was DKV Joventut and without him they're not going anywhere
