Clay Bennet: "Ha! I have stolen the baby from Seattle's crib!" *gloat gloat gloat* "Oh wait... I can't use their name..."
Underling: "Sir, maybe we should hire a marketting firm to consult on the team name?"
Clay Bennet: "Pay someone to name a team!? It's a name! I'll pick one right now!" *glances around the room*
*rumble rumble*
Clay Bennet: "I know we'll call it the THUNDER!"
Underling: *sigh* "Alright sir, I'll hire a graphic design company to get us a logo."
Clay Bennet: *chuckles* "You've got a lot to learn about screwing over fans- er- business, my friend. Open MicroSoft word ... right ... now open the clip art ... okay ... now put the letters OKC on top ... perfect! Problem solved!"
Underling: *sigh* "Amazing sir."
Clay Bennet: "Now where's my veal? I like it young and fresh!"
regarding the logo, there will probably be a change as soon as the lack of fan enthusiasm
we in seattle lost our sonics and this is what has replaced it?
i envy the people of okc for being able to watch nba action this season. i do not envy that they have a squirrel of an owner who has again shown his lack of nba savvy--this time with this middle school logo
its ****ing retarded they ****ed the Seattle SuperSonics and and made a ****in' WNBA team with that gay logo and now no one would wanna play over there! VERY ****IN' NICE BENNET!
Not only is it difficult to represent the natural occurrence knows as "thunder" as part of a logo (Which is not even attempted here- since they opted to simply spell out the word.), BUT the letters OK are identified by people outside of Oklahoma as the expression, "OK," and with the "C" almost being the size of a lower case letter, the OK sticks out too much.
"Thunder" is usually associated with power, and this logo does nothing to make me think of power.
Maybe they should have used "OK City," with Thunder being the smaller word.
Even better, though, would have been a more usable word than Thunder for your team name.
Sticking with the nature theme, perhaps "Tornadoes" would have been better- at least you can see a tornado, and Oklahoma has had some bad ones over the years.
I expect that with time, the logo will change, but this is hardly an inspiring start.

I think they should try another approach with the logo. It doesn't remind me of an NBA team. It looks closer to laundry detergent branding to me. Not trying to be picky but just helping. Try some more options OKC. I don't really see the thunder. Play with that some more.
Should've went with Barons. Uniforms were way better to work with, the logo could've been tweaked. I mean really WTF are you going to have a logo for thunder? A lightening bolt? It's Thunder not lightening. A dark a** rain cloud? LOL
Not only is it so plain and boring, but it looks bad on top of where it says OKC.
I like it though its not bad. there are worse logos.
I agree. The word Thunder looks like it was done with WordArt from PowerPoint. I'm wondering if they purposely made it bland and generic so they could change it later without being stuck to a certain theme. Just think of the evolution the Jazz logo has undergone over the years...
