No.

Reyes: .297/.350/.489
Jeter: .343/.420/.483

So basically Reyes hit for a tiny bit more power and that's it. Jeter gets on base WAY more (Reyes is creating far more outs than Jeter) and is the much better hitter. Jeter is also a better (more efficient) base stealer. Reyes is the better fielder though. There is a reason why Jeter will probably win the MVP this year...

Only slightly this year though.

ARod is having a bad year (relative to what he can do) but still putting up big #'s anyways. Both are crap fielders as well. Yes, once you look past some of Wright's highlight plays, he's a pretty bad 3B ( http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/...ion_nl_aug_27/ )

Wrong again.

Giambi gets on base at a much better rate and is hitting for more power this year. Delgado has a higher average and that's it.

Obviously but why are you comparing those two. It should be Beltran > Damon. A healthy Sheffield is better than anyone the Mets can put at RF, LF or DH (when they get it).

Because the NL is a total joke this year. This should be common knowledge by now.

Jeter is a more efficient base stealer? C'mon, Reyes has 50+ and leads the league. Reyes also has more HR. Also, its no suprise that Jeter has more RBI, because Reyes bats first in the linup. 7 of 10 times when he steps up to the plate, there is noone on base.

Wright plays amazing 3B compared to Rodriguez, and there is the age factor. Wright is only in his second season. Wright is also more consistent than Rodriguez. Wright is better.

Delgado has a better average. Giambi has 1 more HR, and 6 more RBI. Not much of a difference. Delgado plays 1B better though, defense is a factor.

He said that Sheffield was better than any DH we had, and we usually have Beltran DH. And Beltran > Damon anyway.

How about, we have a better record, because we are a better team.

Sure, he's got a better batting average, but Reyes has more HR, and SB
Wright > Rodriguez

Wright has more RBI, SB, and a better batting average. He has not near as many errors as Rodriguez, and he is more consistent.

Delgado > Giambi

Delgado bats much better, play first base better, doesn't strike out as much, isn't on steroids

Beltran > Sheffield

How many games has that clown played? Whenever we go to the AL we have Beltran or Wright DH, they are far superior to Sheffield.

The rest of our lineup has been traded for, or moved because of injuries. You can't compare them to guys who have been healthy/getting consistent time all year. And if your Yankees are so good, then why do we have a better record than them? I can't wait till Maine, Reyes, and Wright get older, and we destroy the Yankees every year.

hey dumbass look at the stats

jason giambi > delgado GO TO THE STATS!

alex rodriguez > wright GO TO THE STATS!

derek jeter > jose reyes GO TO THE STATS! and you should know this dumbass jeter is the AL MVP race

mets fans are truely stupid, wow i can't beleive this

Why is this guy bringing up RBI's so much as if they are a good way to determine who the better player is???

Giambi > Delgado and Jeter > Reyes. The stats show it.

This year Wright > ARod by a little bit but then again, ARod is having a down year. Both suck defensively, ARod sucks more.

Ok, you are obviously another stupid Yankee fan who thinks the Yankees are going to win the world series every year. I will start a thread asking OTHER people who is better. You will then realize how stupid you are.

I'm not even a Yankee fan and I agree with some of what he said. I'm a Jays fan so I definetly "shouldn't" be defending the Yanks... but then again, I'm also realistic and can accept facts (something you clearly can't do).

Wang and Garland are competing this month to see who can be the more incorrect choice for the #3 spot. Any voter who votes for either over Santana/Halladay probably shouldn't be allowed to vote anymore.

So, is Eric Wedge just a terrible manager? That's my take on the whole thing. One year of having a bad bullpen and missing your pythag record by the most games of anyone in the majors could be a combination of rookie mistakes and bad luck. But two years of it, and the way he blatantly mismanaged close games (i.e. the Carmona fiasco against Boston), and he's the worst manager in the league, right?
