Default Should Mitch Richmond Be In The Hall Of Fame?

Quote:

Career Averages:
21 PPG
3.9 RGPG
3 APG
1.2 SPG
1988 NBA ROY
6X All Star
3 X All-NBA 2nd Team
2X All-NBA 3rd Team
1X NBA Champion(Lakers-2000)

In my personal opinion Mitch should go in before Reggie Miller, because although Reggie had more Playoff experience;Mitch won a Championship.

He barely played on that laker team, reggie can win a ring easily if he accepted the celtic's invite last year.

Reggie wouldn't have had a respectable role on that Celtics team,be serious he had been out of the league for 3 seasons and you think he'd be able to get back into basketball shape in 2 months and play a key reserve role on that Celtics team?

He'd be worse off than Penny Hardaway last season.

Yup, he should be in the HOF. He's a gold medalist as well. Pretty good resume as far as I'm concerned. Great scorer/shooter. He barely had an effect on the 2002 Laker team though. But a ring is a ring.

neither did mitch. he rode the bench too, he was a filler/contract.mitch was as good as caron butler or rj at his best.reggie shoudlnt get in either and he wont for a long, long time because his overall play isnt good enough but his clutch performance maybe? but who has got in thats been so iffy like him

Reggie will get in as a 1st ballot because he has more moments that we remember than Mitch does.

Everybody can remember a classic moment in the Playoffs from Reggie,I remember the series against New York where Reggie scored about 8 points in under 10 seconds to win the game.

Although Mitch has a great resume, unless you were a King fan theres not much of any career defining moment you can remember from Mitch.

He probably should, but the fact that he spent alot of his career on a mediocre Kings team might go against him.

Mitch statline over 14 years:
21.0PPG/45.5%FG/38.8%3FG/3.9RPG/3.5APG/1.3SPG/2.6TOPG

Reggie statline over 14 years:
19.5PPG/47.6%FG/40.0%3FG/3.2RPG/3.0APG/1.1SPG/1.9TOPG

Their fourteen year statline is quite similar, with Miller being a slightly more efficient scorer but Richmond scoring more, and adding slightly more onto his RPG/APG/SPG totals. Miller would also now be second to Ray Allen in three point field goals made/attempted. Do I believe Richmond should be in the HoF? Yes. But I hate these constant "Richmond was so much better than Miller" claims.

He also has these honors.

He was one of only seven players to average 20+ points in the first 10 years olf his career. Look at the company...

Wilt Chamberlain
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Michael Jordan
Oscar Robertson
Shaquille O'Neal
Allen Iverson

He is 9th all time in three pointers made and 30th all time in total points scored in the NBA. He shot I believe about 45% for his career and 39% from three. He scored 21 points a game on only 16 shots per game.

He was the 1995 All-Star Game MVP

He was apart of two USA Basketball teams. He has one bronze medal in 1988 and one gold in 1996

In college (Moberly Junior College & Kansas State) he averaged 20 points, 3 assists and 6 rebounds a game.

Mitch Richmond - Hall Of Famer

Sidney Moncrief not in the hall means Mitch won't be in the hall (at least until Sid gets their?)

HOF means you added something "extra" to the game in general or to the playing of your era. I don't see what Mitch added.

He scored a lot of points for a crappy Kings team, so what?

I think he might join the ranks of those that should be there but aren't. Guys like Moncrief and DJ.
