We've had a few threads that evolved into 2k7 discussion, but let's have one thread just to talk about the game. I'll start things off by posting what the player ratings will be. This is the two highest rated guys from each team, so if somebody you want to know about is missing, he must have been the third highest from his team. (Courtesy of Operation Sports)

some of those are messed. Joe Johnson is not worse than Jason Richardson, and is far better than Jamison (just to pick one example)

Duncan and KG dropped 3. T-mac dropped 5. Shaq dropped 4. B Wallce dropped 4. Melo gained 3, Odom gained 2. Iverson lost 2. Starbury lost 7. Nash isn't even on the list!

I can't wait... Im going to move to 2k this year. It better be worth it. please tell me they've fixed the issue of layup and dunk being both the same button.

Cool to see Gil as a 93. I like how in NBA 2k their overall ratings actually suggest how good a player is as opposed to Live. In Live it's completely arbitrary.

Keep in mind that these ratings are the result of a bunch of skills such as "ball handling" and "shooting." The main reason that Melo is a better player than Redd is because he's taller and stronger. Redd obviously is going to rate higher in the shooting categories, and will be at least even in ball handling and passing. I think it makes more sense to just look at it by position, and compare to other guys of similar height.

As it should be. Gilbert is faster, better ball handler, better shooter, better passer, better thief, better free throw shooter... How on earth is Shaq going to get a better rating?

Passing lanes
