Looks like Johnson isn't going to training camp either. He got a contract in Ukraine. I remember an interview with him at the RMR, saying this was his last summer league, and if he didn't get a contract would be going elsewhere.
Johnson, Lyde, McNamara and now Muoneke have(had in Britton's case) almost no chance of making the team unless someone goes down for the year and they get another roster spot or they surprise us with a trade.
Miles and Almond I'm sure were going to get plenty of PT in the pre-season anyway. AK will be resting after the olympics and who knows when Harpring will be 100% if ever.

Very true. Just as long as he is active for the Ron Artest showdown this playoffs, I will be satisfied. I'll miss his toughness, but it might be nice to see the younger guys give it a shot.
Plus, maybe we can see Sloan run that darn curl for someone else (Williams, Korver, Miles, Almond) when the offense isn't going well.
Just concentrate more on Boozer/Deron like he did w/ Stockton/Malone.
I would like to see that, if Boozer could become more consistent (to Malone proportions). Malone was a more potent scorer. He averaged 31 ppg one season. Boozer has shown he's good for 21 so far. He has the high fg% of Malone, and already sports the mid range jumper (though he fades sideways while Karl faded back). If Boozer put his back to the basket more often, I think he could become the versatile first option we need. Hook shots, up and unders, and drop steps combined with the faceup threat (jumper or drive left) should be enough to get him more easy buckets. The pick and roll down the middle works well with them, except Boozer started dropping the interior pass near the end of last year.
My hope is that with all the contract years, everyone is "on" without being too selfish.
I wouldn't but by next season that's probably what you'll have. The thing that this team has that the Stockton and Malone teams didn't is that they aren't so one-dimensional. When Karl didn't show up against the Bulls they had few options cuz they never ran plays for anyone else. This team might have a chance if Boozer doesn't show up though last years playoffs I guess tells a different story.

He can't. He's not in the same league as Karl was. You can compare Deron and Stockton but there's no comparison with Karl and Boozer. He's a poor man's Karl is about the best thing you say about him.

That goes back to the Jazz not involving anyone else in the offense though and it hurt them in the long run.
