Yes. It was shown on TMN a lot so I eventually watched it.

Decent. Pretty well directed, nice cinematography, but not as thrilling as I would like. The concept is interesting but nothing too revolutionary and was pretty predictable.

Inglorious Basterds, 10/10... One of the best movies i've ever seen.

Gattaca is awesome. I was a table waiter back in the day and waited on Gore Vidal.

That would be simply amazing.

Just saw Inglorious Bastards - 8.5/10. I loved Brad Pitt's character, and the rest of the bastards actually. Kind of wish they were in the movie more, I went in expecting it to be all about them, didn't know anything about the girl getting revenge. The whole ending was great, didn't expect shoshana or whatever to get shot like that.

I also just saw The Blues Brother's for the first time. Don't know how I haven't seen this yet, but def one of the best comedies I've ever seen 9/10. So many great lines. Love how Jake's ex fiance keeps trying to kill them, and everytime it happens they just go on like it was nothing. When his whole apartment building gets blown up and Elwood's just like oh its 9 a.m. we gotta go to work. The neo nazi car chase at the end is crazy too.

Good stuff as always, Lamar. I usually take some of my movie choices from your posts. We seem to have very similar tastes. You led me to Synecdoche, New York, so I'm in your debt. I'm going to have to give Adventrueland a look.

I quoted this particular part of the post, because I agree completely. I didn't know who Kristen Stewart was until you mentioned 'girl from Into the Wild'... Yep... Too young for the old goats on this forum? Do I care? Nope.

F#cking fine... And I don't feel at all like a nasty old perv for making it known. Nothing we can do about human attraction.

Idiocracy: 8.5/10

I hate to say it, but this is probably the most realistic vision of the future ever portrayed on film, plus it reminds me a lot of Wall E for some reason. A lot of similariities between the two films.

The occasional narratives are hilarious, especially in the opening when it is comparing the intelligent people talking about maybe having kids and then flashes to the dumbasses pumping out baby after baby.

Idiocracy has to be the most underrated 'modern' comedy.

Either that or Bowfinger.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

8 / 10

It was pretty good, but maybe my expectations were too high, because I certainly didn't think it was great or anything. Not top ten this decade like it is heralded. One of the main things I didn't like is at times it didn't seem like the relationship was even worth saving. I mean sometimes people just aren't that compatible.

District 9

9.7/10

It was absolutely awesome. I loved all the different filming techniques, the documentary style worked very well. The barren and rundown locales were perfect, the build-up (all that "he betrayed us" "omgzz nobody saw it coming") was top-notch. Using unknowns worked very well with documentary obviously, and the interviews were perfect complements. The aliens were great and you really saw them as fully-realized beings. Oh yeah, and the action was f ucking great! That mech suit? There's more to say but I don't want to.
