And Then There Were None

A murder mystery based upon Agatha Christie's play (the novel has a different ending). If you want to watch a good, little whodunit, then give it a whirl. 10 people are invited to stay at a house on an island where they're systematically killed off one by one. It's nothing mind-blowing or anything, but the acting and directing are all fine. The ending leaves a bit to be desired, though. Most seem to prefer the novel's ending. B

I guess it would have been "Hot Tub Time Machine." Some parts were complete misfires, but on the whole, it was a genuinely funny flick. The parts with George McFly had me on the floor.

Midnight Run

Really good buddy flick, and you gotta love that eighties film-making, with the pseudo-cheesy blues guitar soundtrack. No complaints, everything was solid, though not spectacular.

8/10

5/10 About as bad as you would have imagined. Its unbelievable how stale and bland it is. Its like Smith was trying to make a bad movie, he didnt hold back anything bad.. bad acting, hack directing, recycled humor. The film is the epithome of a stupid buddy cop movie.

Me and Orson Welles - 9/10

I loved the film. Richard Linklater didn't disappoint. The direction, screenplay, and score were fantastic. The acting was superb. Christian McKay was remarkable as Orson Welles showing the verve and potency of the real man. Zac Efron, Claire Danes, and Zoe Kazan were also very solid in the portrayal of their characters. The film is a typical Linklater film, one that holds a dialog driven story, which challenges the viewers intellect.

Absolutely loved it..

I watched The Slammin Salmon by Broken Lizard the other night.... and it was pretty damn awful. There were a few silly one-liners, but for the most part it was pretty much just low-brow gags and s*it-jokes.

I probably would have rated it lower if not for the role Michael Clarke Duncan played, and the inclusion of Robin Scherbotzky.

I heard it was great too. My friend who saw it said Efron displayed some actual acting chops in the movie.

Well, Kevin Smith didn't write it... And totally did it for money. I didn't watch it because I knew it would suck.

At least he can put the money towards his next god movie.

I rather liked The Slammin' Salmon. Yeah, it's stupid humor, but that's kinda the point. It's by the same guys who did Super Troopers, so if you like that, you'll like Slammin' Salmon.

just re-watched "lonley are the brave" a movie based on ed abbey's first book "the brave cowboy". While the book is better and draws out the issues underlying jack burn's reluctance to incorporate into the "modern world", the movie is great as well. Kirk Douglas claims it was his favorite movie he ever did and walter mathieu's understated humor as the sheriff is a great fit. Tragic ending with the anti-hero. Well before its time in term of topic, the cinematography is classic BnW western, which works alright.

I was just recently able to find this on dvd.
