I still think it's over rated. It's good, I enjoyed it, but definitely not as great as others say. Christian Bale's Batman voice is stupid, but Ledger is great in it as he is in most of his roles. I also felt the film went on, half an hour too long. I was just waiting for it to end after 2 hours.
I couldn't agree more. Too long for me and I also think it's good but not that good.

The Dark Knight was masterful.. most of the complaints are feeble personal annoyances. The complaints have more to do with them than the actual film.

15 minutes shorter would have made it perfect for me.

Whoosh!

Like Zen said, most complaints with the Dark Knight are personal annoyances and for me, the voice and the length of the film are two things that just annoy me. They may not annoy you, but they annoy me.

I don't know, I thought the suggestion of a high pitched girly voice would have given the joke part away. Also, a french accent isn't too bad, it'd sure beat that growling he does.

i have to side with this guy. yes, it's a comic book movie, but there's hardly any dialogue in which the characters aren't explaining their motivations for the audience by over-using silly metaphors ("dog chasing car") or employing some very paper-thin philosophy ("the hero we need/deserve"). picturing gordon giving that ending speech to his son instead of cutting to the montage is hilarious. the dinner conversation between bruce and harvey is silly as well ("you die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"). all of these characters are a little too self-aware (and self-absorbed!).

i watched it last week for the first time since seeing it in the theater and renting it once right when it came out. it was both better and worse than i remembered it. i found myself cringing throughout at most of the dialogue. oh, and batman is a true criminal for taking out the SWAT team, not just for accepting the blame for the murders he didn't commit.

I did like that.
I have to watch it again.

i think it's funny he used the voice when he was only talking to lucious. he's in character sure, but morgan freeman just has to be rolling his eyes and thinking "we've got a method batman here"

really cool movie. stunning visuals. the action sequences were some of the best i've seen in long time for a movie like this. some really clever sequences.

nothing groundbreaking story wise, but it had a nice flow to it without detracting from the energy and overall pace of the movie.

voice acting was spot on with the likes of jennifer connelly, christopher plummer, john c reilly, and elijah wood at the helm.

worth a watch. 7/10

I saw "Dinner for Shmucks" recently. It was nonsensical for the most part, but I loved it. Laughed pretty much all through out. A combination of Carell, Rudd, Galifinakis, and the dude from Flight of the Conchords was perfect for a comedy like this. Objectively, I'd give the film about a 7/10, but personally it would rate closer to 9/10 for the pure hour and 50 minutes of enjoyment. Movie was very quotable.
