You might also like "los cronocrimenes" (time crimes), by Nacho Vigalondo. Check it out if you haven't.

I watched all 3 Godfather movies this weekend.

The Godfather- 10/10 easily. Marlon Brando was amazing. Pacino was very good but I think he was better in the second.

The Godfather II- 9.5/10. This was also another great. Al Pacino was great and I loved the part that De Niro played. It was very interesting and I loved how they explained Vitos rise to power.

The Godfather III- 8.5/10. It was a good movie but too much was going on at once. It was a little hard to follow. I thought Vinny was interesting character but the whole banging his cousin thing hurt his character a little bit. He also kind of changed a little to suddenly for me to believe he was legit. At the end of the day it was a good movie but it didnt live up to the other 2.

Yeah, it's one of those films I always forget to watch. Let's see if I remember to download it today.

Raging Bull

Very well acted, but the story meandered a bit too much for me.

7/10

it did drag a little, but that seemed intended. Scorsese did a great gob.

You sir, are insane. Easily one of the greatest movies of all time. This was the pinnacle of surely the greatest director and the greatest actor of all time.

I might be insane, but Raging Bull is definitely not the pinnacle of either Scorcese's or De Niro's careers. And it's not like I said the movie was bad...I thought it was quite good; the plot just meandered a lot imo.

Philosophy of a Knife

I'm only about 3 hours in, but it's already lived up to its reputation as the most violent movie ever made (or at least that I've ever seen). I don't really know if I want to finish it...

6/10 so far though.

I felt the same way as you did. A 7? Technically speaking, that film may be as close to a ten without actually being one. As a director Martin has always been well ahead of his time.

Interesting. I guess I missed something. Maybe I'll check it out again sometime in the future. Plus, I think everybody rates movies differently; I've seen people on this thread give movies that they didn't like a 7, but a lot of the time I give movies that I like a 6.

American Beauty

Bizarre but hilarious. Well acted, well shot, well written. Great movie.

9/10

All 3 in one weekend? I don't think I could handle that. I have to mentally prepare myself just to sit down and watch The Godfather.

The only issues I had were that the production values left something to be desired, and at times the movie was just silly(the pink bandages for instance). Otherwise I was highly entertained and it really got me thinking, and I'll definitely watch it again sometime.

7.8/10

I love that movie. I feel pretty much the same way about the production and such, but I think it can be disregarded/understood considering it's the director's first movie. Can't wait to see what he has to offer in the future. Have you seen his short film 7:35 a.m., which got him an oscar nomination?
