I watched the french film "A Prophet"...wow it was terrific. Maybe the best film I've seen all year, honorable mention to Winter's Bone. It's a brutal prison drama detailing the transformation of a young naive inmate to boss status. This is probably the greatest prison film ever made.
One of my favourite movies ever. Amazing pace, I love how the first half hour is dedicated to that terrible act he is forced to perform, the tension is palpable, and then the rest of the movie focuses on a much longer time span.
Check out biutiful, another amazing recently released foreign film.
I love RDJ and those kind of comedies.... But it does drag. I'd put it around a 7.5/10. Worth a DL/rental.

I give it a 5/10...... average.
Yeah it had its moments, and I thought that RDJ and Galifiwhatever had good chemistry, but I thought it fell flat in its potential for ridiculous, the ending felt kinda inconclusive, and the trailers leaked all the funny lines.
I thought it was perfect pacing. It calmed down enough for me to catch a breath. 9/10 at worst but no way it is 5/10
Basically the counter to Supersize me, the dude goes on a fastfood diet but keeps it to around 2,000 calories per day and loses weight over a month basically it's good nutritional education IMO throughout the movie and that's why it's like a 7/10 for me. A lot of Americans could benefit greatly from viewing this from beginning to end, btw IMDB has it as a 7.2 interestingly enough.
