Enjoyable, but it seemed rushed and a tad bit shallow.
6.9? Really? I mean, even if the political message behind the movie isn't your taste, the acting was still great and I don't really know why you thought it was slow (other than the her being in 'jail'). I would definitely consider this movie well above average.

6.9 is well above average which he said was a 5. The score indicates that he acknowledges the fact that it was a good movie without necessarily liking it himself. However, I would give it a high score myself.
I recently watched Howl and thought it was fantastic. I saw someone review it a few pages back and the criticisms seem consistent across the web but I disagree with them. The poem was the central figure in the film and not Ginsberg or the trial room lawyers. The animation captured the despair and drug fueled wonderings of both the minds and lives of Ginsberg's generation. It was thought provoking and the scenes with Franco were charming and somewhat enlightening.
I'd give it a 9/10

Garden State: Fell in love with this one when I first saw it, the soundtrack is timeless. Still the first of It's kind [these weren't done for a very long time] in the modern era and still the best IMO. Easily upper 80's, low 90's.
the Mechanic: pretty straight-forward action flick. I love Ben Foster and I hope he starts taking on more projects similar to the Messenger. *spoilers* I honestly think this movie is incredible if both of them stayed dead at the end. I really do. Keep the last scene of Foster reading the letter and laughing, that's brilliant.
This movie exposes the Govt and Media to be liars and how they always have been. It will make you feeling sick in the end with no faith for our society to ever be one of the people.
Always knew about Tillman's death and followed the reports on it through the news, but never knew the full details until watching this Doc.
If you like action films, samurais and katana fights, you'll love this. I enjoyed it a lot, it's very entertaining and action-packed. The plot is decent, don't expect much depth or character development, but it's solid. It sometimes exaggerates the japanes archetypes or the age it portrays, but that is expected of a japanese action film I guess. 8/10
First was Battle LA. The CGI looked REALLY weird and we couldn't take it seriously. I hope we didnt miss out on much, because we stopped 10 mins in.
Then we went for Predators. That was a pretty good movie. I was sure I knew what would happen in the end, but it went down a little differently then I expected. I'd probably watch it again, but it was nothing spectacular. 75%
I felt like laughing, so we went for Hot Fuzz next. Im not sure why I constantly avoided this movie. It was rather funny, and the ridiculous gore had me rolling. Well done movie, although I think it might have dragged on abit too long. 84%
Usually I stay away from foreign films with the whole having to look at the subtitles and all, but I'm quickly reminded of how good Downfall was and how Foreign films tend to tug at your emotional responses a bit more than modern day Hollywood with their silly one-liners and expensive CGI effects that become predictable. Flame and Citron delivers on all cylinders with a perfect blend of drama, narrative, and mild action that will always keep you entertained about the story. The story surrounding Germany's Gestapo and WWII doesn't hurt either. Great film.

did you find somewhere that was showing it or d load?
made a thread about this one already as its well worth a look....
phenomenal debut from sorrentino, such stylized cinematography(and awesome score), an assault on the senses, similar tone as a single man but even more style, its dripping...seek it.
9/10

The Top 31% of all movies ever made is still pretty f*cking good.
People don't know how to properly use a 1-10 rating scale, and throw around 7's and 8's for "good" movies. Like I said, 5 is average, therefore a 6.9 is almost 50% better than the "average" movie.
Also, when did I say it was "slow"??
My critique was that it felt rushed and shallow. Where is "slow" in that assessment??
