Treasure of the Sierra Madre: 92%.

The Color of Money: As a standalone film, 80%. As a sequel to the Hustler - 4%.

They Live - 9/10

Wow, what fun this was. Roddy Piper was da man. That fist fight between him and black dude was so long. One of my all time favorite comedies.

Man on Wire - 9.5/10

An absolutely brilliant, riveting, thought-provoking, beautiful documentary on a man who walked a high-wire between the Twin Towers in the 70s. For anyone who enjoys documentaries as I do, this is a MUST WATCH.

Other recent films that I have seen...

Slumdog Millionaire - 6/10

Unfortunately, one of the most disappointing movies I have seen in a long, long time. I'm a huge Danny Boyle fan and, after reading the reviews and hearing the accolades, I expected brilliance. It was a huge disappointment for me and I walked away scratching my head as to why it has received such an enormous amount of critical acclaim.

Gran Torino - 8/10

Basically, the absolute opposite of Slumdog. I went in not expecting a whole lot and was blown away, especially by the performance of Eastwood. This will be regarded as a classic years from now while the other films that were loaded with Oscars this season will be largely forgotten.

Lawn Dogs - 7.5/10

One of the strangest movies that I have ever seen. But, ultimately, well worth the watch. I'm not even sure how to describe this film, so I won't even try (especially considering the subject matter). Has anyone else seen it?

The fact that Clint is still intimidating as hell at like 80 years old is nothing short of amazing.

I wouldn't f#ck with the man... that is for damn sure. Just when I think Eastwood has peaked and he will begin his slow decline into eventual retirement, he smacks me upside the head with another brilliant performance and film.

I just don't get why it didn't get any love. This year was weird. There were a number of films I thought were really, really good that either bombed or got almost completely shut out by the Academy. I still think In Bruges was one of the best films of the year (it AT LEAST should've been in the conversation for screenplay; the dialogue was brilliant), I thought Gran Torino was wonderful, The Wrestler, and I think in a different year with a director with a different name W. might have got some play, too. Those four are all inside my top 7-8 films of the year and basically were totally shunned by the Academy.

Really good movie, i liked it because it is a very dark film and makes no attempts at a happy ending, Phillp Seymour Hoffman plays the usual slimeball creep which he does so well. Ethan Hawke plays a desperate but well meaning guy who just cant get it together, he plays a character mired in misery excellently. And Marisa Tomei is as hot as ever, get some good nudity here, she seems to get hotter with age, broad is 45 and banging.

Seriously, this movie is like a Marisa Tomei porno. There's so much sensual nudity on her part here it's just magical. The storyline was pretty interesting and the eventual demise of each character pulls you in and leaves you wondering about who's the bad apple, the loser, and the honest one in your own family. Good pick.

I think people are giving him a pass because he is Clint Eastwood. This movie has OBVIOUS bad acting and just looks stupid overall. Doing an 80 year old Dirty Harry? What's the point?

Bad acting from everyone not named Clint, absolutely. Those Hmong kids were brutal. Definitely hurt the film IMO, but I still really enjoyed it nevertheless. Remember, and I know you struggle with this, just because YOU didn't like it doesn't mean no one else did.

So you didn't actually watch? It just "looks" bad so it must be, right?

Dude, it's an obvious movie. It's just another movie where Clint does his Dirty Harry routine. Is there a big element of surprise that I'm missing? I seriously doubt it.

Well you want to know why it didn't get more attention... Probably cause it don't deserve it.

Again, the typical "hotlantadude passing his opinion off as fact" again. You're so damn predictable.
