Amazing movie. De Niro is one of the best actors of all time and him and Pesci are in a lot of great movies together(Goodfellas and Casino).

Incredible how all out De Niro goes for a part.

This is him when he was fighting in the movie.

This is him later playing washed up Jake Lamotta in the same movie!

He worked his ass off to get really cut and in shape for most of the movie and then gained 60 pounds in fat for the end of the film. He's incredibly convincing in every role he's been in.

Not bad...the third worst Halloween movie(Season Of The Witch and the '07 remake sucked). It's still a decent and enjoyable horror movie.

What are the other two pieces called?
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance is the first one and Lady Vengeance is the last one. I've heard slightly better things about Lady Vengeance, and apparently neither of them even come close to touching Oldboy, but they're certainly worth the watch when I get around to it.

I watched it in a film society with like, 15-16 other people, and the photo album scene just brought on so many "oooooh nooooo" gasps. And then the pacemaker ending. I was already gasping for air, and that literally brought me to me knees. What a trip.

Eagle Eye 0/10

Now, don't go thinking I wanted to watch this movie. I couldn't find Appaloosa to download, and I was bored.

This movie, this movie, If I can even classify this as a movie, was downright awful. I've never seen a movie so atrocious that I wanted to throw up on my own genitals, and facefuck myself. I can't even begin to describe how bad this thing was. Not only did they completely rip off movies like Enemy of the State and Manchurian Candidate, but they did it so cheaply. They weren't being followed by people, they were being followed by a rogue computer system. WTF is that? I don't give a fuck about spoilers, so fuck you.

Now, when I see most action movies, although I would consider this a political thriller, even though it was less thrilling than a dead infant, I can appreciate it if it at least has decent action scenes. I can't appreciate a movie that when they finally get away, the guy doesn't get the girl.

And I can't take Shia seriously, the man is 4 foot 1, and he's trying to flirt with the actress who's at least 6 inches, 5 years older than him.

And people say Shia is a good actor.

In Bruge - 8/10

Very good movie overall, but the first 30 minutes are pretty slow. I am suprised it doesnt get more recognition though, as it is one of the best movies that has come out lately, and it has some well known actors in it.

I'm hoping Brendan Gleeson gets nominated for an acting nod. He deserves it.

Burn after Reading - 8/10

just saw in the theatres yesterday, absolutely funny movie. Brad Pitt and Tilda Swinton are great, Clooney and Malkovich good as usual, but Pitt and Swinton really stole the show. Story was (surprisingly) lacking in the middle of the movie, but the end was absolutely hilarious and fitting. The guy who played the director of the CIA played his part perfectly too.
For fans of the Coen brothers I can only recommend this movie, but I can see how some could not like this type of movie.

I agree completely, and I know people think I'm overrating it, but in my books it would've been the second best movie of 2007 had it came out then (behind only "The Lives of Others," which blew the socks so far off "NCFOM" that it should've been given Best Picture, foreign or not), and I haven't seen a lot in '08, but it's by far the best film I've seen this year. Colin Farrell really surprised me, too; he was pretty good in that flick.

Gleeson was at his finest when Harry comes to Bruges...just the back-and-forth between them was unbelieveable. In fact, I thought Ralph Fiennes was great in his limited time, too; the way the film tries to absurdly moralize killing is just spectacular.

And Pete, if you do find a place to d/l Appaloosa, let me know, and I'll do the same. I really look forward to it...I've heard good things.

the last kiss = 6/10 -> very realistic movie about relationship problems

the 25th hour = 8/10 -> another great acting job by edward norton. I also liked rosario's performance.

I should download the Lives of Others tonight. Yeah, I'll do that.

I think the Dark Knight is going to sweep the Oscars, but honestly, I think Gleeson's performance was the best this year so far. I'm going to watch the movie again soon.

I've been looking. I've heard great things, but it doesn't seem too popular. It's made less then $10 Mil so far. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.

The Western is a dead genre. If you have guys like Russell Crowe and Bale in your film, then you can get a decent draw, but Ed Harris, although a good actor, doesn't carry that kind of pull. Nothing in that genre since "Unforgiven" has truly impressed me, although "Open Range" was much better than I was expecting and the final shootout was pretty badass.

When you see Unforgiven, not much is going to impress you after that.

It's my favorite film, BTW. I watch it at least once a month.

Everyone loves Tombstone, but I prefer Wyatt Earp [have you seen that?]. I liked Open Range. 3:10 To Yuma I thought was pretty good.

Yeah, they're really haven't been many western's released in the last 10 years or so. You can't count the great westerns released in the last 25 years on one hand. The movie I'm making for the movie draft is a western.
