Pretty unusual film, slow yet dynamic, with minimal dialogue and lots of conscious silence. Also weird a bit. Ofcourse absolutely beautiful pictures... Yes. Seemed longer than is. Good watch, if you want calm, estetic-looking, not-screaming type of movie.
Rum Diaries - 7.5/10 Cracked me up, was closer to Fear and Loathing than I was expecting.
Contagion - 6.5/10 Filmed very well, good acting, and it was interesting to have an outbreak movie from a realistic perspective with no bad guy, but in the end just lacks entertainment
Pontypool 6.5/10 Entertaining zombie/infection movie despite the viewer rarely getting to see the infected people (mostly phone callers into a radio describing the attacks while you watch the radio hosts react). Started to lose me in the final act as it started explaining stuff.
Humanoids from the Deep 4/10 B-movie about half human/half salmon creatures that murder guys and rape women. Funny in moments, but overall not very good.
Not the greatest and it was a bit too predictable at times, but I really enjoyed it. Some of the action scenes were a bit tame, but they sufficed. I thought Denzel was brilliant. I'm a big fan of Ryan Reynolds, but it was Denzel that ended up being my favourite in this film.
The Adjustment Bureau - 7.5/10
It reminds me of mix between the Matrix and the Nines, in some sort of way. People may disagree with me quite a lot there, but that's the feeling I got. I think, if handled better, it could have been a brilliant film.
Really enjoyed this film. I've never been a big Shakespear fan but this film made me want to learn more about the writings of Shakespear (or the Earl of Oxford). I particularly want to learn more about the truth behind this theory. A lot of people rate this movie low because of the accusation but pretend its because the movie itself wasn't any guy. I couldn't disagree more about the quality of the movie. My only complaint was getting confused about the timelines when they would go back and forth between about three periods, but that was a small thing. I can't wait to watch it again.
I know a lot of you torrent stuff, so I figured I'd let you know, that "Nun With A Shotgun" movie or whatever it is that sounds like a hey let's drink a sixer/spark a blunt time waster, DON'T TOUCH IT. It's financed specifically to try and bring lawsuits against torrenters.
