The Amazing Spiderman: 3/10- Wow. This movie was bad. I didn't think in a million years a movie would be made that was as disappointing as Spider Man 3 but... here we are.

If you want we can talk about the bad stuff but for my review Imma talk about what I did like:

Garfield did an interesting take on Parker. He's a terrific actor that is for sure. Granted the script gave Peter really no defining character really but he did the most with it one could help for.

Gwen Stacy was in it, and if this leads to a Death of Gwen Stacy (Spoiler for one of the most popular and well known comic books in history published nearly 30 years ago) movie.

They did a wonderful job of the acrobatics part of Spidey. At first at least. Spider Man is an elite fighter, even having Cap remark that he could barley keep up, and it's for two reasons. His Spidey sense and his uncanny movement style. They did this better than in the Raimi films.

He had to build a shooter. I like that. And the lizard was a good choice of villain, just not as an origin villain.

This movie is not one I will watch again. It was entertaining, but for all the wrong reasons.

BT. Not quite DVD quality but a solid 7/10 or better quality-wise on the a/v (on a 40 inch screen) and quite watchable.

REC3

I wasn't a fan, I'ma say 5/10.

Wasn't as creepy as the first 2, acting was bad, the kills were good but too cartoonish and the entire vibe was just too goofy. I didn't like how they went the comedy route on this one either. And I didn't dig how they handled the religious aspect either.

The Matrix - 8.75/10

A bit messy, especially in the beginning. It began to pick up once Morpheus talked to Neo for the first time through phone. Still a great movie nonetheless.

I watched the first 2 and enjoyed them. I HAVE the third one, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

All I know is the Spanish Reporter lady from the first and second one is hot as heck.

A true classic from my high-school years.

I will never forget my shock and awe during the scene when they show the big "field" of "crops", when we realized what was going on.

That movie, even though most of it's sequels were gargbage, was a serious game changer.

Hereafter

6 / 10
I liked the start of all three stories but then the movie kinda lags with no direction. I like that the huge theme of afterlife is not too intrusive but it is really kept so much in the background that it looks like the excuse for some sentimental tricks. Yeah I actually cried at some of the little twins' scenes - I'm sensitive about kids lately

Batman Begins - 9/10

Great cast, awesome acting, and the story line was written well. It just bothered me that Bruce Wayne comes back to town and suddenly there's a Caped Crusader running around with all sorts of expensive gadgets, yet nobody seems to connect the dots. It doesn't make sense, but I suppose you have to suspend disbelief in order to enjoy superhero movies.

The Fountain - 7/10. I think my rating for this will be a lot higher after a reviewing, or a few for that matter. I've never seen a film like this before, it's something completely different from conventional and even unconventional movie making. I feel like I didn't truly appreciate the film either because of thinking and trying to figure out what was going on most of the time. The ending kind of led me to an interpretation that would allow me to enjoy this another time.

Putting my interpretation in white text to avoid spoilers:

The past is merely the book that the wife has been writing, not actually being real characters. The present and future are in fact real. She really dies, and after she does, his experimentation leads him to find a real cure for disease and aging and he lives forever, into the future. He then tries to "meet up with her" in the future. He also finishes the last chapter of the book for her by taking the sap from the tree but living forever in a different form, accepting mortality in a way. His obsession with living takes over him during and after her death and in the end, he comes to peace with death and subsequently, life as they are two sides of the same coin and very dynamic.

yes that is whats going on, but obviously there is more to say with regards to how everything fits together. the future is a possible ending that in a way no longer exists by the end of the film because he finshes the story by making himself the first father and creator. ofcourse this alos means he reaches the same understanding izzi was trying to impart on him- of myan culture in which death is an act of creation meaning he shouldnt seek the cure for aging from the tree. symbolised in the time he doesnt go out in the first snow with her/and therefore looses the ring(like many things reversed in the ending).
if that isnt too muddled.
anyway, the film is such a rich complex masterpiece, of course rewatch at your leisure.

Fight Club - 8/10. As it is with a lot of the movies I've been watching lately, I'm going to have to rewatch this to fully understand an appreciate it. I really liked the movie throughout, but after the "twist" is thrown in there, it changes the entire interpretation of the film and gives it so much more depth. You really find out about the inner thoughts of men and watch it unravel into the fight club. Excellent acting in this one as well...Pitt and Norton were stellar.
