Colin Farrell really surprised me, too; he was pretty good in that flick.

Lives of Others won Best Foreign Film at the '07 Oscars, the year The Departed won. What irks me is that Babel & Letters from Iwo Jima were nominated that year, and I'm pretty sure more than 50% of both of those films are in a foreign language. If a foreign or animated film is good enough, they should be eligible. I see no reason to punish the filmmakers just because they have their own category.

I agree completely. "Lives of Others" was on an entirely different level from anything that was nominated for Best Picture. I mixed up the years, but it was still better than anything on display at the 79th or 80th Academy Awards. Thanks for the correction.

Ratatouille.

Animated cartoons can still be charming!
Flashes of brilliance just like those with Bambi and Snow White. Thematic messages deeper than that which a regular film can depict. Extremely inspirational and I may get a pet rat just from watching this adorable film.

8.8/10

3:10 to Yuma::::: 8/10

Crowe was freakin' brilliant in the show, which was a lot of fun to watch. Bale did a good job too.

Stranger than Fiction::::: 7.5/10

Will Ferrell did a really good job in what is a really interesting movie. The numbers thing they show largely at the start, and minimally throughout is a nice little touch.

Family Guy Presents : Blue Harvest ::::: 9/10

I love Family Guy! So excited for the next one they do like this. I'm kinda wondering who will be Yoda.

Waitress 7.8/10. Really good film, that should not be watched with a brizz. Her mind will start wondering and you may get into trouble because how convincing Jeremy Sisto was as the abusive, immature, d-bag hubby.

saw Run Fat Boy, Run last night

6.5/10

an ok Simon Pegg romantic comedy about him trying to win back Thandi Newton after leaving her at the alter, while pregnant. David Shwimmer directed. He shows he has some talent but there is much room for improvement. A little long in parts and a tad formulaic (it IS a romcom after all) but the performances of Pegg and Hank Azaria are solid and there were a couple times I laughed out loud pretty hard.

you could do far worse for a chick flick.

The Ladykillers - I enjoyed this movie very much and it is hilarious. It is very unassuming. I love the mixture of characters and Tom Hanks dialogue is genious.

7/10

The announcer at the end cracked me up. "I didn't know he had a son!"
