Thor 2 7.5/10

Hunger Games 2 9/10

That Hunger Games movie was actually pretty damn good. First one was pretty mediocre but this one was damn good. Lawrence in this >>>> Lawrence in American Hustle acting wise

Probably my fav blockbuster film of 2013 and in my top ten overall

8.8/10

Jeff Daniels delivers some of the finest comedic moments I've ever seen in film, Melanie Griffith is at the height of her seductive powers, and Ray Liotta's big break of his career is diabolical fun and by far my favorite performance of his.

An underrated gem from the 80s. Everybody should own the Blu-ray released by The Criterion Collection.

Old Boy remake - 8.5/10

Surprisingly good but I still put the original over it. I really thought it was going to be bad but it turned out good.

Josh Brolin looks like John Cena in this movie

I'd recommend Enough Said with James Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Great film.

127 hours ( 2010 )

A biographical survival drama film with a simple plot and great reviews from critics and many awards * 138 nominations and 25 wins * James Franco was awesome, one of the best roles in recent years along with Milk and Sprink Breakers.

9/10

ender's game (2013)

this is probably a half-decent SF film if you're unfamiliar with the books. but for someone who loves the first book in particular, this movie just had nothing for me. pretty much just a bland hollywood green screen production... nothing new or interesting was added, and plenty of nuance was unfortunately lost.

the tone felt a little bit similar to gattaca. i'd certainly recommend that one instead.

2.5 / 4 stars.

Damn, that sucks. Didn't think it would make a good movie because I doubt they would capture the psychological nuance of Ender. I prefer Speaker for the Dead out of the books tho which would prob translate even worse to a major motion picture.

Cloverfield 6-7ish/ten. TJ Miller as the dude who holds the camera is pretty funny. Nothing groundbreaking but solid thriller/horror. Had some cool scenes.

rotten tomatoes has it at 61% among critics, but 71% among audiences. ender's game is probably an okay movie experience if you just want a 'standard' SF film with some interesting ideas, a bit of space opera, and pretty forgettable acting.

hard to say how SftD might turn out. it's a very different kind of film... sort of a drama / mystery / morality play more than a SF film. i could see it working out in the right director's hands, personally.
