I watched 3 documentaries over the weekend. Dirty Wars, A band called Death, and The Crash Reel. I'd give them all an 8 out of 10 and a must watch sticker. Especially Dirty Wars, that was crazy as F!

Before Midnight (2013)

Figuring the second was so great, why not risk it and watch the third installment. Dialogue was great as usual, very intense, but a starkly different tone than the other two.

Rough stuff, but captivating and truthful. I liked the movie, but not nearly as much as the others. It didn't hit the heights of the other two, but it was trying to do something different.

7.7/10

Huge fan of the series, Before Sunset is my favorite. First one came out when I was in high school and had an impact on me, had no idea they ever planned to do another and was floored by the second one when it came out. I hear you on the most recent one, it was fantastic but it definitely soiled some of the romance of the first two with some harsh realities of relationships. Still just painfully brilliant though. They've mastered the ability to turn 2 hours of conversation into a can't-miss series. I hope they make these movies every 10 years as long as the actors are alive, it'll never get old to me. Linklater is the man, he's got this "untitled 12 year project" (google it) that he's working on where he's had these two kids (his daughter and another kid) and filmed them for a couple weeks every year for 12 years and the story is about them in this time so they just started principle photography on the bulk of the story. Needless to say my interest is piqued.

Place Beyond the Pines - 8/10. I saw this at the cinema and my date thought it was awful but I actually really liked it. Ending might be a bit over the top but I liked what it was trying to do.

My friend did a lot of the editing on Blue Valentine, and even more on The Place Beyond the Pines. I'm sure I'm not completely unbiased because of it, but I loved both of those movies. It's weird to me that Derek Cianfrance directed both of those as one is such a stark character study, while Pines is a one after the other linear plot driven story, albeit a really strange plot. I actually really loved Pines, killer act breaks. Was really shocked in the theatre more than once watching that one.

Chances are every movie you would want to see is on this website, the longer you wait, the better chance a DVD or Blueray rip version will appear. I've had broken bones before, so I know what its like to not go out and see a movie you really want to see. With this website, now you don't have to leave your computer chair. I recommend using only PutLocker or Shochshare links to movies, they are the easiest websites to navigate, and these don't require any intrusive downloads. As long as you have a flash player installed, you're pretty much already setup.

Only catch is you have to register, but its super easy and free. If you have any questions on how to navigate through the forums, or finding a movie link, send me a PM :) . Once you figure out how everything works, you may never pay for a movie again. Get well soon.

EDIT: Or if its easier on you, just tell me what movie(s) you want to watch, Ill PM you a direct link

Thanks a lot man. I'll definitely check it out. Maybe my smarttv browser can handle it.

I've never seen, nor had any real interest in seeing, any of the Sunset / Sunrise movies. It sounds like I should.

I liked Elephant Man and Blue Velvet. Never saw The Straight Story. I straight up hated Mulholland Dr, Eraserhead, and Inland Empire. Never finished Dune.

I don't remember enjoying Inland Empire much. That was a misfire for him. Never seen Eraserhead or Dune.

Wild at Heart is a fun, entertaining flick and Twin Peaks was of course a good show.

But, I don't know how anyone could not like Mulholland Drive on any level though. Even a lot of people who are utterly confused by it come back to it multiple times to try and figure it out. It's got such a great hypnotic and watchable quality to it, and it's a compilation of some really interesting scenes that are well-played.. especially by Naomi Watts who was robbed of an Oscar nomination that year.

I thought people keep coming back for the hot girl-on-girl action.

Definitely a selling point,

But, for those who aren't big fans of and are desensitized to girl-on-girl action from so much porn viewing like myself, it's low on the list of the things the film has going for it.

I think they'll make at least another Before movie. It seems like they have a great process and all really love working with each other... Plus they're cheap to make.

Hadn't heard about that other thing, sounds like it could be cool. I'll admit, even though it sounds like blasphemy to most people I hate Dazed and Confused and Scanner Darkly.

Honestly, based on your taste in stuff I think you'd really like them. Some people think they're pretentious and stupid though.

They're kind of like a mix between My Dinner With Andre and Eternal Sunshine.

AMERICAN MOVIE

Hilarious documentary bout a middle aged eccentric 'loser' who wants to complete his short film with the help of hopeless, drug-destroyed friends & loyal family including his hilarious uncle who is pessimistic about the success yet still provides funding.

They are from Milwaukee, Wisconsin so the accents alone are entertaining but the filmmaker is just an underachiever with a passion for making his film.

It's gold- hilarious & still has heart. I highly recommend, esp if u enjoy documentaries that are 'slice of life' bout people who would generally not get much attention.

This film is highly quotable in an odd way
8.8/10
