X-Men DOFP

8/10 for a comic-book movie. I was happy with it. I think they did a great job. My only problem was I was trying to understand the time travel plot point during the movie and I think I confused myself. It's a movie I'll have to watch again.

You better not be talking about the Alien sequels

The double. 8/10.

Really interesting premise, very well written, good acting across the board. It reminded me of Terry Gilliam's Brazil.
It's the kind of movie that will make you think and consider where your life is going and where we are headed as humans. Strongly recommended.

Some parts are downright gross but someone who has a wife, kid, no job, and is about to be evicted might be pretty desperate. A decent amount of dark comedy too. Kinda like that movie Would You Rather I saw recently(liked this better though).

6.3/10

I'm about to watch would you rather soon.

I've been waiting for Non-stop's HD release, finally it's on movie websites now.

Disappointing ending, I expected it to be more complex or intricate. I liked the whole "text messaging" thing, very unique. Expected more.

One of the weirdest if not the weirdest movie I've ever watched. Saw a poster for it while I was in Japan and it had me intrigued.

Basic plot is a depressed Japanese guy hires a dominatrix club to beat him up every so often but it goes awry. I found it pretty funny but again, super weird.

6/10

The Taking of Pelham 123 - 3.5/5

It was actually better than I expected. Travolta does very well in his role and I was pleasantly surprised to see Gandolfini (I had no idea he was in it).

The editing at times was atrocious: it made me feel uneasy but for no real reason. It relied too much on the "You've got x amount of time before y happens" device.

But it was very good for a modern thriller film. I'd recommend it.

Adaptation.

When I read the synopsis of these highly-regarded movies and go, "Wow, I don't care how good the acting is, that sounds f*cking boring," I never seem to trust myself. Outside of the acting this was trash and a complete waste of 2 hours of my life. I'm amazed I managed to stay awake through it.

Now to a bigger letdown: From Dusk till Dawn. This movie was AWESOME - until the dead started coming back to life. Turned it off right then and there. What a f*cking letdown. Had a fantastic crime thriller going and then we throw in zombies. What a joke.

From Dusk till Dawn is an absolute classic...they were vampires not zombies, not sure you even watched it, that's a pretty big detail

I watched Laura two nights ago. It was really good.

Memorial Day I watched Twelve O'Clock High; it was OK but I kept expecting it to get better.

You should try watching the original.
