WTF did I just watch. Man, this is a totally twisted film. It's so absurd it's funny (which was the point) but it still left me feeling a bit sick to my stomach. McConaughey gives a great, twisted performance as Joe. Overall, good performance from McConaughey but the film left me feeling dirty, which is why it didn't do a lot for me. Too much.

Well I'm 19 tomorrow so I'm younger than the film, and I just hadn't seen it. Obviously it was no longer in cinemas by the time I would be old enough to go there, I've never noticed it on TV and I've never had it on Blu-Ray, DVD or VHS.
Loved it. Just like all of Nicole Holofcener's films it is very real. A very real, mature "adult" love story. James Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfus had wonderful chemistry and were both wonderful. It was very sad watching Gandolfini's last film before he passed away - but he was great in this. Very charming and very funny. It was a beautiful movie.
Ok indie romance movie. Kind of a sucker for these quick little romance type movies with a indie rock soundtrack that tugs at your heartstrings a bit. Plus it was about a family full of writers which kind of suckered me in. Nothing special about it tho.
