Saw "Fight Club" yesterday. The movie had alot of potential... Started out really nice, but once the story started about setting up a terrorist army, the movie just FAILED. They should've put a "The Fast &TheFurious" ending in it. You know, that the "bad"-guy gets arrested or something...

I give it a 3/5

High Plains Drifter [1973]: 100%

My second viewing. The first time I absolutely did not get it or probably didn't pay attention enough. It leaves you with a question you'll probably be asking yourself for a long time. It requires several viewings, much like any other movie that leaves lingering questions. I plan on watching it again this week.

In the Loop [2009]: 88%

Absolutely hilarious. British comedy might not be some people's cup of tea, but I was in stitches the entire film. With the hundreds of post 9/11 political and war films they've been churning out lately, this is a nice change of pace.

Observe and Report: 35%

The soundtrack is incredible, and there were a few laugh out loud scenes, but all in all, not a very good film. I stress the soundtrack, because without it, it would've have been in single digits. Ok, that's a lie, because I would lick Anna Faris' sweaty a*shole and she's in various forms of undress in it, which adds about 5%.

I was forced to watch this last night while waiting for some real films to finish downloading.

Anyways, I'm going to rate this one differently. I'm going to do a point system, since you really can't rate the acting, as it doesn't exist in movies like this.

I'll start with 100 points and add, or subtract.

First off: -500 points for wrecking my favorite car of all time, the beautiful Buick Grand National

So now we have a total of -400 points.

+ 100 points for the following cars: Acura NSX, Gran Torino

-300 points total

+200 points for using mainly American muscle and not completely ricing the movie out

-100 points

-50 points for no half naked Asian chicks

-150 points

-200 points for Paul Walker trying to convey emotion on the screen, and still looking like a Meticoded robot

-350 points

Well, there you have it. Fast & Furious [2009]: -350%

Killshot: 62%

Just cause of the actors, otherwise a pretty mediocre flick.

"The Right Stuff."

88/100.

I'm really glad Kaufman went to bat to keep the Yeager story in there because it would've been mediocre at best without it. Still an absolutely fascinating film about an amazing time in American history. The scene where Gordon Cooper is trying to articulate who the best pilot he ever saw was (Yeager) but eventually is overwhelmed by the press into giving the simplified answer of himself embodies the theme of the film perfectly. Fantastic.
