Possible the biggest basketball rivalry of the 21st century: kings and lakers.
Both teams were at their peak at about the same team, both declined together, both teams were blown up, and both are working their way back into the top 10 of the league. Which team will have the better record this season? Which team has a better future?

also losing bonzi is going to hurt the kings a lot. They will miss his scoring toughness and defense.

Pretty close, IMO, the Lakers have the better starting lineup but the Kings have better depth.

People wonder why nobody likes laker fans?Damn right now I would say lakers only cause of kobe the rest of squad il like a jv team.The kings might be good in a littel while but what young talent do they have that will keed franchise afloat?

Kevin Martin is a future allstar. He has game like rip hamilton but more athletic. He has played in big games and produced; he made a game winner against SA over TD in the playoffs.

Do teams with more championships start with more points than the other team??

And your wins arguement, why don't you compare the wins from when Artest joined the team, might be a little different.

Also, bonzi wells averaged 12 points and 7 rebounds during the regular season. I really don't think it will hurt them that bad.

Honestly, How many times have you watched him play?
As a starter he averaged about 14 ppg 5rpg 2 apg .9 spg 33 mpg 50 fg% 42 3fg% 84 ft%

Those aren't bad numbers for a wiry thin 6-7 shooting guard who weighed around 180 pounds last year and had adopted a completely new shooting style over the summer. (He has put on weight over the summer). This guy didn't make the kings playoff roster in '05, thats a lot of improvement to show for just a two year career. This guy is good and he is motivated.

I meant Bonzi was hustling for a contract during the playoffs.

Don't know what the Kings' record exactly was after Artest joined but it won't matter until they can prove they can be a better team than last season (same for the Lakers). Lakers had a great run too but theirs came much later in the season. They ended the regular season on a 11-3 run winning in San Antonio, against the Pistons, Suns etc. They won the last 5 games by 10+ points each and took a 3-1 lead against a championship contender. Too bad their inexperience got to them.

prob 10 times i watch the kings a lot because i follow garcia. I am also high on Martin but he is never going to be an all star. I dont care about the numbers when e starts, his game is not that of an all star i dont see it. I think he will be a good player, maybe a good starter if he adds weight.

But to be an all star???, lets remember Carmelo Anthony didnt make the all star team year. Its tough to make the all star team. HE isnt going to ever be there first or second option, he isnt anywhere near as good as Artest or Bibby. HE also has bad lateral movement and which makes him a subpar defender. He is never going to be one of the 3 best shooting guards in any conference and if he is the NBA is really going downhill.
