Default "Pass it to me! Im Open!"

As a PG, I hear this when Im playing more than, "What a pass! What a play! What a player!"

How can I ignore it???

I know it sounds like something a ballhog might say, but I hear it every freaking second Im holding the ball, and I have a pass first mentality, so I pass instead of making a good play using my own brain in it, which is my biggest downside.

The thing about people saying that the most is that 1/2 the time they aren't actually open, and it results in a TO and I get the blame.

So what do you ISHiots think I should do about being able to ignore it and know I made the right choice in ignoring it?

As a guy who is running the floor the most when I play, I need help in this to better myself, and those around me(which is the initial reason I play)

Thanks to all in advance

people who do that (incessantly shout for the ball) have 0 iq and usually like to think they can do it.

But if you're a good PG...use you instincts and just ignore them.

Thats why when I play pickup, I always bring friends instead of playing with retarded strangers that jack shots up left to right.

Thats what my friend does. Once I pass, I pretty much have to scream pass it back or he'll just jack it up

That happen to me a lot too...
Saying that your open is a good thing (if you really are open) but its the PGs choice to make the pass.

Ignore the guy yelling and pass to the guy not giving away his position. Your the PG it's your show. Run it. Make what you feel is the right decision and tell that other dude he's not in as good position as he thinks. Just don't hold the ball too long. make the right play right away and if you consistantly do this the respect for your PG skills will come. Even if the dude yelling for the ball all the time get's pissed, if the other guys on your team get the open looks and the offense runs smooth he'll just look like a scrub.

Oh and if a guy is open and you miss the chance to get him the ball, let him know and you'll get him next time. You gotta communicate constantly when you're the PG. It comes with the position. Tell guys where they should be if they are not in good position, let them know when you want a pick, tell them to "shut up and play!" when needed.

Keep working though, man. PG is not an easy position to play. IMO it takes the most IQ to execute.

have a talk w/ the coach and have him tell the players that whining for the ball is a dumb move. either that or bullet pass the ball to the guy's head.

I love the bullet pass to the head technique. I like to use it on guys that aren't paying attention or not looking...

it's a good way to teach them to watch the ball. i'm kidding of course, i wouldn't want to hurt someone but they need to learn to be attentive.

Just ignore them. Dont pass it to them just because they're saying "I'm open", pass it to them because they ARE open. As long as you do that you wont get blamed.

Explain to him that the more he passes, the more likely people will pass to him. If he doesn't pass, people wont pass to him because they know they wont get the ball back. Pretty obvious stuff to you and I but it sounds like he's got a low basketball IQ.

i never pass the ball if my players aren't moving . which usually means it takes me a long time to pass the ball, because everyone that i play with in this area just camps out at the 3 point line. let people know to set screens, try and run off their man and get open, THEN they can call for the ball.
