Default Should Mickael Pietrus start?

I really think he contributed very well off the bench on Friday against the Nets.

14 points, 7 rebounds.

I'd like to see him start.

Consistent how? Points? Defense? Rebounds? Be more specific.

Pietrus averages more points and rebounds this season than Courtney Lee. And that's with less minutes.

Pietrus has been inconsistent in playing games. If he was starting, our lineup would be too inconsistent. Where as if Courtney Lee starts, he doesn't get his minutes juggled around and he can develop smoothly.

Inconsistent defense? Inconsistent scoring? Inconsistent overall?

Pietrus' drives to the basket are very valuable to this franchise IMO.

I've seen Courtney taking it to the basket more often and drawing fouls which is what I like to see more of.

Sorry I kind of missed the point in my first point. I meant inconsistent health...

I think Pietrus is still young enough that he can recover just fine. Also, he does like to go to the basket with authority.

I think everything is perfect once Jameer is back except the bench...

Rafer Alston(If we decide to keep him)
jj Redick
Michael peitris
A TRUE PF(Maybe a Drew gooden)
Marcin Gortat

So basically all we need is a PF, everything else should stay the same

I completely agree with you that his drives and hardy playing is extremely valuable to this franchise.

BUT, as a starter he would not be fitting. It is like Ginobili, a very in your face style of offensive play but his body gets beaten and battered. If Pietrus were to be a starter he would quickly become fatigued and would not be as effective.

I really like what I've seen out of Courtney Lee lately and hope he would keep it up.

He needs to defend Andre Miller a bit better next game though.

I was kinda surprised to see J.J. starting last night. But he played well, I liked seeing him move the ball around and took some nice shots. Great contribution. He did get into foul trouble though.

But I'm glad Pietrus shot started falling and nobody can deny the awesomeness of Air France. That fast break slam dunk was absolutely sick. As was the reverse alley oop dunk. Pietrus is ready.

No doubt about it, Michael Pietrus is one of the more talented French players, but I don't think he should start. Coming of the bench would probably do him good, as he brings a whole lot of energy to the second unit. And I agree with Vipertonna. We should really look for a good PF during the off-season.
