Default Re: If This Raptors Team Underachieves?

We are a MUCH better team then last year. Any team hoping to get anywhere in the playoffs has to play defense. And JO is all the diference, and he has shown us he will give the hard foul, get some rebounds and be a presence in the paint.

Yes the Denver game was horrible, it's hard to find some positive from that game but Jose played very well, shot the ball when he had to and made them.

What I don't understand is what Sam hopes to see from the end of the bench when there all in there together. Bring in the end of the bench with some starters to see how they play then. Putting Soloman, Graham, Ukic and Humpries just does not give anybody any idea of how those guys could play with the starters. That was mess out there that killed any confidence the end of the bench might have had. I'm not saying Sam has to go, but what the helll was that!!

Rapsfan: The preseason is not a be all, end all. It's pretty much just a warmup where you get your conditioning back, run a few plays here and there, and hope that nobody gets injured. In fact, usually the teams with the best preseason records are the teams that have done badly in the previous regular season and therefore log their starters fairly heavy minutes for preseason basketball. I'm going to reserve judgement until we have some games that count for something under our belt.

I agree. I hope you're right.

It would be nice to look a little better on D though. D shouldn't take a rest in the preseason and right now, our D isn't too great. A lot of people on this board think that adding JO will instantly make us good at D. He'll help, but he can't do it alone.
