If Al Harrington leaves GSW, Turiaf's my sleeper of the year. Unless, they get uhmmm, Matt Barnes?

The reason he is a gigantic sleeper?

Because for one the Suns new coach Terry Porter has come out and said that Barnes will be the starting small forward. This means he will be getting 30+ minutes a game while playing with an unselfish point guard while in Golden State he had to share the ball effectivley with Al Harrington, Baron Davis, Monta Ellis and Stephen Jackson.

In Phoenix he will likely be the third option with Raja Bell's percentages dropping rapidly. I see Bell as moving into a Bruce Bowen type of role this season for the Suns. Also Shaq is only going to be playing about 25 minutes a game and it is unsure if he will even play the second game of back-to-backs.

Even if he doesn't shoot more than he did in Golden State (which I don't see happening at all especially with Steve Nash as his point guard) then he will still offer I'm going to guess about 5-6 rebounds, 3-4 assists, plenty of three's made and a good amount of steals.

This is my 2009 season projection for Matt Barnes...

13 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 1.5 steals, 0.5 blocks, 125 threes made.

He can get a little out of control which is his downfall because some nights he will have some turnover and foul problems.

But Matt Barnes is the sleeper pick for the 2008-2009 NBA Season.

Also he will be the winner of the Most Improved Player award.

Call me crazy but I want a ton of reps at the end of the season when Matt Barnes gets a new big deal.

QFT!!

Thus far this season...Matt Barnes stats...

12.0 ppg
5.8 rpg
2.3 apg
0.5 spg
0.4 bpg
Currently on pace for 154 three point field goals for the season in 62 games.

You know Matt Barnes has been disappointing thus far. Not even top 100...

Doesn't matter. I was still right about his numbers.

And he's ranked the 34th small forward in ESPN Fantasy.

Right after Lamar Odom and before Tracy McGrady, Mickael Pietrus, James Posey, Grant Hill, Jamario Moon, Peja Stojakovic & Luol Deng.

My Warrick picked worked well. Damn you Darrell Arthur. And you're supposed to be a fat slob Gasol.

I was right on Westbrook. He's not ranked very high at the moment because of his low FG% but the production has been amazing. Basically 13/4/4/2 stls and he's starting now. Can only go up from here.

Most my team is sleepers because of my bad draft lol

PG - Mike Bibby
SG - Rudy Fernandez
SF - Thaddeus Young
PF - Pau Gasol
C - Dwight Howard
G - Beno Udrih
F - David West
UTIL - Wilson Chandler
UTIL - Spencer Hawes
UTIL - Paul Milsap

Bench - Gilbert Arenas
Bench - Monta Ellis
Bench - Chris Kaman

<_< Three guys out with injuries but my team is floating right now and I figure I'll make a huge push once Monta and Hibachi return especially since they are returning at the same time.

You called him a gigantic sleepers, and he has been disappointing thus far. You're off by two assist and 1 steal, yes that isn't close to your prediction. 34th forward is nothing special, yahoo has him around 120 ish overall, his predraft was like 130...

I drafted Westbrook in our league, but ended up dropping him during a reshuffle of my roster. Mind you, I drafted Eddy Curry too since I thought he might make an impact this year. How wrong I was.

I think by the end of the season it will be Nene, so props if you drafted him. I'm sorry but I really don;t like Matt Barnes at all as a fantasy guy or anything else
