Default Will NBA ever come back to Vancouver?

I think it could happen, there is definatly the fans in Vancouver who would watch it. Seattle and Portland have had lots of rumors of them moving as well. Except when Hornets go back to New Orleans I can see Okalahoma City getting the Sonics. Seeing as the Sonics new owners are from Oklahoma City. So maybe in the next few years we will be seeing the Vanvouver Trailblazers...

the market is not big enough is Vacouver...to have a Sports Franchise in Canada you must have a HUGE market, because sports teams are considered a business in Canada and they get taxed toooo much, thats why you see a lot of NHL teams moving south

Nope.....not enough support from the fans and more importantly not enough fans in the tv/surrounding regions. I would say mexico is next for foreign cities with Montreal somewhere down the road.

News flash, French canadians don't care about basketball and the only sports that will ever survive in that market are Hockey and football, both of them have been around for alomst a century and completley dominate the market.

I lived in vancouver for 2months during fall when the team was still there and i can say they never had a sold out game, weekend games are only half filled, fans are never really into it because the team suck too much.

It will be hard for any nba team to survive in any city other than Toronto. For some reason, the Raptors just worked for us from the get go.

The definative answer is no - who cares what happens to Seattle.

Where would you put Vancouver in a list of cities without NBA teams...

Kansas City
Las Vegas
San Diego
San Jose
Oklahoma City ??!!
Cincinnati
Pittsburgh (with the new lotto funded arena)
Jacksonville

the list goes on and on and on.

Vancouver? Montreal? pshaaaaw..... Mexico City maybe but not right away.

You can't say never. It's possible that Vancouver could get an NBA franchise again, but it's not on the NBA's to do list, that's for sure. There are still some big markets that don't have teams. From what I've read about expansion or moving teams, Vegas is one of the top options for the league to get in. They're not going to choose Vancouver, a market which has already failed once, before they choose a city like Las Vegas.

You can't say that it will never happen. It's probably safe to say that the Raptors will win a championship or two before Vancouver is even mentioned in expansion talks.

not anytime soon is for sure. u need investors and no1 is willing to risk it investing in a NBA franchise that gets overtaxed and doesnt have a fan base..
