Default Great news - Bosh set to sign extension

Quote:
And on July 12, it will be Chris Bosh Day as Canadians likely will celebrate the signing of a lucrative six-year contract extension that will keep the American in a Toronto Raptors uniform.

"I can't wait to sign it," Bosh said. "I know where I'll be. If I didn't, I would have to answer all those free-agent questions.

Nothing new.

He already said a month or 2 ago that he would sign it and there is no way any player is turning down max money.

Is the drafting team able to pay the player more money?

Q, even tho we already knew this, we now have a set date (unless July 12 is the first possible day for signings, I'm not in-the-know about these things) to wait for. Plus, this little affirmation is pleasing considering how monumental an event the resigning of a future franchise player is.

Keep your hybrid Giraffe/Gorilla, already peaked biich Powerforward.

Softie can't even play defense.

Disgrace to G-Tech.

Only crappy organization worth holding that nerdy longneck clown would be none other than the raptors.

*haha just testing your reactions, great news*

This is great news. I'm glad someone posted this because it really makes me comfortable with the Raptors future. Now they can draft whoever they want without fear of losing Bosh.

Bosh even at this young age has the swagger necessary to finally take the Raptors somewhere. This is great news for them, that he actually wants to stay. I wouldn't if I were him.

Where?

He's a stud, but he's gonna need a lot more help before they go anywhere for real.

Players on rookie contracts do not turn down max deals even if they have many other teams they'd rather play for.

I can't think of one player in this situation in the past 7 years who has turned a MAX deal to take a risk on the qualifying offer year and then be an unrestricted FA.

the closest thing might be

Kenyon Martin playing for the qualifying offer. but then again, he was only offered $63 million over 6 years. he said he "needed to take care of his family."
