blanking right now but add in another guard that can drain 3s like Ray

the name you wanted was Arenas.

and has anyone else noticed that david stern is turning the nba into euro ball? zone defense, moving screens, no physicality on the perimeter... big men are becoming less useful and quick guards with deep shots all important... not sure if it's good or bad, but there it is

Arenas?

Just because you shoot alot of threes doesn't mean you can shoot threes.

Arenas would be terribel for his shot selection, and isn't nearly the all-around shooter like Ray is

The detroit pistons huh? Actually alot of my friends think that the nba champs of that year should play in the olympics seeing how they have played together for a while have at least an allstar or two and have beaten all of the best talent in the ''world''.If you believe the best players in the world are in the nba.

I agree with the rules statement - if it's called via FIBA rules, then the US can still win, although it's difficult.

I'm pretty sure we're going to get the gold in '08 though, it's our game.

Why is u.s. assured to win the gold.Everyone is like''oh its on now the u.s. is gonna dominate.I dont see it put however many bums or roleplayers or even selfish stars you want. The U.S.will still be lucky to place in 08

Puertorican league season is 2 and a half month and the player then go play in different legues ncaa and europe. but we still beat the usa. The main reason as some said are the rules. the problem with the US on the olympics was that they didnt have great shooters, and all the other teams use a zone defense againts them.

But i have to say that no matter what rules, nba or fiba US could get there asses kick!

If the US had more Kidd like point guards it might be even. Otherwise too easy to defend against a team with no perimeter threat unless you get the same refs from the NBA finals!

Paul pierce is a key for USA team against european team beacause if european team goes wrong they starts to play zone defense and they used to win with only 3 point or less then 3 but Usa dont.On the other hand Euroleague is the most hard (for defence) league in world.
Greece,Turkey,Serbia,Russia, Italy plays only with defense.if They plays good defense they will beat USA easily but Paul Pierce who is the best lay-uper for usa.

Because the 2004 team wasn't close to being our best team.

On that team you had

Wade, LeBron, and Melo who were all rookies and all much much better than they were that summer.

That team only had 1 all-nba team player from '04, who were; Kidd, Bryant, Garnett, Duncan, and O'Neal.

So as long as we get our best of the best players to play, we shouldn't have any problem.

As for the US vs All-INTL, I think the US could edge it out.

There is no doubt that the USA produced some of the greatest NBA players. But...

*Most of the NBA superstars have huge egos (- size of Canada and bigger).

*USA vs. Rest of The World ... I am picking USA, unless:

- you have fair refs that call travel (Lebron, Wade,... would get calls 9 times out of 10)

- you have Starbury on USA team

- you have Shaq and Kobe on USA team together

- Larry Brown is the coach of the USA team (Sorry couldn't help myself)
