Re: The Official Vote Devin Harris into the All-Star Game Thread
hi and welcome, aussienet. :]
"write in" apparently doesn't work for some of us using either IE or FF as browsers. i'm using XP as my OS on a modern dell machine, so i'm not really sure what the problem is. i tried looking at the script a little but i'm not an html person.

you do understand the Chinese Communist Party restricts internet usage? Moreover, about 300million of the Chinese are fans of the NBA. but many of them are old men who are too poor to afford a computer.
sure, some of the young people will vote, but internet usage is expensive there.
if the Chinese really did vote, then wouldn't Yao get billions of votes every year?
the only reason Yao (and Tmac and Battier) get such high numbers is because Houston has a very very large Chinese population. over 1million.
New Jersey? hardly anyone in the tristate region cares about them. I mean I do. I wish others did. but the truth is Yi probably won't be voted as a starter.

john "i'm usually a huge d0uchebag towards the nets" hollinger says that devin harris is the 4th biggest surprise of the season and has the 7th best PER in the league: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/column...rprises-081120

I really dont know what to say for your ignorance. Most of the chinese NBA fans are old? 16-40 is old? Computers are widely used in China. Maybe most of Chinese cant afford a car,but a computer?????? You are just kidding me?right?
I will not vote for Yi because there are more Yi hates than Yi lovers in China, and I dont think Yi is All-star standard yet.But definitely I will vote for VC and DH, I like Dh since he was in Dallas.
Maybe I am old and I will not vote, but as I know, those young chinese kids are all interested and crazy in voting, and I think which will be a huge plus for VC and DH,as well as Yi.

use some logic here:
last season, Yao ended All star voting with about 1.5 million.
if even all the basketball fans in China voted once, wouldn't you think that amounts to many more votes?
Re: The Official Vote Devin Harris into the All-Star Game Thread
anyway, I doubt Harris gets voted in as a starter.
I mean, Wade is out of his mind and immensely popular. so he gets one guard spot.
and some people will never stop voting for iverson until the day he retires.
factor in Gilbert Arenas voting for himself and youd be hard pressed to get Devin and Vince into the ASG unless the coaches give respect where it's due
(no more Joe Johnson this year PLEASE! low40% FG should not be allowed into the ASG)

hmm... 1.3 billion people, a huge number of internet users, but probably very few chinese yao fans are 'hardcore' enough to go to NBA.com and vote- not because it's difficult but probably because supporting him in that way simply doesn't occur to most of them. *shrug*
