He's not SO valuable, but he's the kind of player that can catch you up in a category like threes very quickly. I also like the way Portland's management seems commited to giving him mins, even though he's in a wicked little slump of late. I also think his name is generating enough buzz that it helps significantly in a 2for1 kind of deal. Add over one steal per, decent blocks for a guard, great ft%, plenty of international experience at a high level of play, and the fact that Roy has missed 33 games in his first two seasons, I like what he can offer a fantasy team.
Plus, the only other guy I'd want to own on Matt's list is Yi, and I have no desire to try and guess which games I should start him and which games I should bench him, because he seems to be a total crapshoot.
