There is talk that Thibadeau? (assistant) in Boston is a candidate for head coaching sometime in the future. Don't know how his philosophy compares to Colangelo. I thought he was more of a defensive style coach.
If BC likes more of a running style then he needs to find someone that fits that style. But also has to find some players as well. But in the end it is usually defense that wins championships.
Bet he wishes now he was able to get D'Antoni. However, I don't know the tampering rules because I believe Phoenix had to give permission for the Raptors to talk to D'Antoni and if that was the case there was no chance for them to get him anyways.
Some of the armchair GMs in here turned me onto him a couple of years ago. Man he has a connection with Colangelo because he was the assistant in Phoenix.
Just have to wait until he gets fired for leading his team to such a crappy record. Funny how the Ivaraoni bandwagon has been silenced in here. lol
Goes to show how much armchair GMs know. lol
To be fair, what could most coaches do with Memphis' roster anyways. Dumping Gasol for nothing should not result in wins. You're basically lumping yourself into the "armchair GM" group with your impressive use of hindsight anyway.
The only two guys I would want besides the already taken ones... (ie. D'antoni, Carlyle, Adelman, Scott) are Coach K (brings clout and you know he can deal with huge egos as he's the one to coach the USA team) and potentially bring good FA's in 2010. The other Ettore Messina from Cross seas. Is supposedley is going to be the first coach from overseas if anyone comes. Considering his ties with Colangelo and the Assistant GM he could be next in line.
