Default '93 Suns -vs- '08 Celtics: Who U Got?

Barles Charkley was just on TNT Halftime show sayin' the Phoenix Suns would kick the Celtics ass, so would they?

F: Charles Barkley
F: Cedric Ceballos
C: Mark West
G: Dan Majerle
G: Kevin Johnson

Important reserves
Tom Chambers
Danny Ainge
Richard Dumas

2007-2008 Boston Celtics 66-16
F: Kevin Garnett
F: Paul Pierce
C: Kendrick Perkins
G: Ray Allen
G: Rajon Rondo

Important reserves

The '93 MVP trophy belonged to Charles Barkley while Kevin Garnett took home DPOY Honors. Both teams had the best records in the league that given season.

Majerle could handle Pierce, Ray (not young ray ray the 2008 watered down version) would probably guard himself, Barkley would work KG. KJ and Rando would be interesting. Tom Chambers at that point in his career would probably be plus 10 for Celtics while he is on the floor. Dumas and Posey would be a good match up but I think I give the druggie the upper hand due to his superior athelticism that was squandered away by being a druggie. Danny Ainge was still lights out from 3 but Posey could probably lock him up and Ainge would probably leave someone open at the end of the game for a 3 a la JOHN God Da*n Paxon!!!! I like Phx though in a tight 7 game series, with no blow outs and a few OT's thrown in.

It looks like the Suns have a deeper bench than the Boston Celtics, and Prime Charles Barkley is just a freak of nature.

I think the Suns will beat the Celtics in 7 games.

Prime barkley V KG would a dream matchup. Sir charles would get a ton of rebounds and his points. even KG wouldnt be able to stop a prime sir charles. the suns have alot better spotup shooters on there team. the celtics the better defense.they say defense wins championships, but in this case i'm not all that sure. to close to call.

celtics are a much better defensive team than the 93 suns, so i say boston wins.

Boston would smash them. Or at least, that's what everyone says is supposed to happen when an all time defense meets an offense only team.

I think Boston would beat up on them. Rondo's speed matches up well with KJ . Pierce and Ray would be too much for Ced and Dan. West and Perk are a wash. The Marquee matchup of Barkley and KG IMO would also be a wash. The only matchup among the starters where the Suns have a clear cut edge is KJ over Rondo and I personally think Rondo would give him fits(remebering how well BJ Armstrong did against him in the finals) celtics win series 4-1

I also think the Celtics woulda beat the 93 bulls in 7 games(with game 7 at home court, which they would've had, check if u like)

Don't forget about Oliver Miller, he'd put a whoopin on the Celtics.

BJ played worse in the '93 Finals than he did during the regular season (12.3 pts/4 ast/50% FG in just 30 mpg in the RS and 13.2 pts/5 ast/50% FG in the Finals in 42 mpg, for an increase of 1.2 pts/1 ast in an extra 12 mpg, which isn't great by any stretch). Rondo would get his usual numbers or slightly better, but to act like he'd beast (at least based on the evidence you're using) is crazy.

he cant even stop Dirk so I doubt many prime billy badass PFs would have too much trouble with him scoring wise.

Go Look at how well KJ's numbers were in the finals compared to his regular season. I was talking about BJ's "D" on him and the "D" I think Rondo could also play on him. I should've been more specific

I wouldn't compare it to his numbers from that season since they originally dipped because the Suns switched to a post-up offense that took the ball out of his hands more. And overall K.J. didn't play poorly that series, just during the first two games against the Bulls team defense designed to shut him (not Barkley) down. But during the last four games, he averaged 22/8/4/46% FG. Plus his defense against Jordan helped them back into the series.

Only way I would see K.J. being slowed down is if the C's collapse the lane and zone up aggressively while closing out shooters like Majerle & Ainge, otherwise nobody on that team (especially with the current defensive rules) can guard him 1-1.
