Exclamation Do you agree with this suggestion for the Knicks?

On today's rumors page in this forum was this suggestion for the Knicks:

"I don't have a strong opinion about Jarrett Jack's game, yet... Knicks fans need to publically beg Isiah Thomas to make the team run, run, run. Every player on the team who isn't a center can do it. Heck, bench Eddy Curry, forget Jerome James, play Channing Frye at center, David Lee at power forward, Jamal Crawford at small forward, Steve Francis and Stephon Marbury in the backcourt, and run like maniacs every play. Rebounding and guarding the paint would have to become a true total team effort, but the team could enjoy nice success and they'd be extremely fun to watch. Just an idea..."

A very interesting idea indeed that would really make the Knicks fun to watch. But how well do you think that strategy would work?

If you think it would work, what do you think about going further by packaging Eddie Curry, Jerome James, and a bench player or two, including an expiring contract for Kevin Garnet - even if it involves a third team?

Well I don't think it would hurt any. Eddy, Jerome aren't defenders of the post anyway. While they do clog up space, neither is in shape to stay on the floor. But if we run, run, run what happens on the other end?

The Denver Nuggets in the '80's under Doug Moe ran and ran in the Mile-High city where the air was so thin, other teams not accustomed to the high atmosphere and low oxygen content had to use oxygen tanks to try to catch their breath. Denver played no defence and tried to outscore everyone.

"In 1981, when they hired Doug Moe as a head coach. Moe brought with him a "run and gun" philosophy, a style of play focusing on attempting to score rapidly with little interest in defense, and it helped the team become highly competitive. During the 1980s, the Nuggets would often score in excess of 115 points a game, and during the 1981-82 season, they scored at least 100 points in every game. Anchored by scoring machines Alex English and Kiki Vandeweghe at the two forward spots, Denver lead the league in scoring, with English and Vandeweghe both averaging above 25 points per game. It was a novel strategy, allowing the Nuggets to top the Midwest Division and qualify for the playoffs during that span. (On December 13, 1983, the Nuggets and the visiting Detroit Pistons combined for an NBA record 370 points [ in a single game], with Detroit winning in triple overtime, 186-184.)"

Perhaps the Knicks can use the NYC traffic fumes the way Denver used their thin air! LOL
