Default 12/31/08 - (7)Nets @ (5)Pistons 3:00PM EST

Probable Starters:

Pistons (18-11)

Rodney Stuckey
Allen Iverson
Tayshaun Prince
Amir Johnson
Rasheed Wallace

Nets (15-16)

Devin Harris
Vince Carter
Bobby Simmons
Yi Jianlian
Brook Lopez

Pistons have won 4 straight, 2 with with current line-up. The Nets handed the Pistons their first loss of the season off a strong game from Devin Harris in Allen Iverson's first game with the team. The Pistons are finally starting to click with the return of Antonio McDyess and the promotion of Rodney Stuckey, but face the third straight game without Rip Hamilton.

Early games aren't a strong suit for the Pistons this season, but I think Stuckey will play Harris better than Iverson did in the last matchup and Pistons will squeak out their 5th straight win. 95-88

the Nets are road juggernauts. 10-4 on the road. only orlando and boston are better (11-4)

but their home record stinks (5-12)

essentially, the key to beating the Nets is:

make sure they don't have good shooting nights. if Harris and Carter are shooting lights out, that opens up opposing defenses for their dribble drives, which gives all the Nets shooters many more opportunities.

If Carter and Harris both go off, look out.

Tough game for the Nets. Hopefully they come out and win this.

Early games haven't been our strong suit as they have been on Sundays… our winless day.

I like our chances…
We will need steady contributions from our bench today - Mcdyess, Afflalo, Maxiell. I don't see anyone else getting any time today as Curry seems to be in an 8 man rotation these past few games. If someone besides Amir gets in foul trouble, its possible a ninth player will see some limited blow.

Come on Pistons! Lets close out the year right

hopefully we can actually defend harris a little so he doesnt have another career night against us. Expect the pistons to come out hung over and sluggish. Hopefully starting amir will help with the energy from the get go.

any links?

I hope Iverson gets going on offense tonight. He has played such great team-ball that I think this game he should just go off, since Rip is out and everything.

Some points on the game. This time around I think Curry understands Stuckey cannot guard Harris and will put AI on him. VC is the wild card because we know Stuckey cannot guard him either. Imho TPrince has been one of the biggest underachievers on this Pistons team. He needs to step up and make his presence known (on both ends).

Can I get the NBA D-League pass so I can watch on TV? If so that's fine with me.
