Default Dennis Rodman vs Ben Wallace [rebound contest]

I've read somebody said Ben Wallace can destroy Dennis Rodman, in terms of rebounding.

what do you think?

Rodman, 6'8 240lbs
Ben Wallace, 6'9 240lbs
(according to NBA.com bio)

DENNIS RODMAN
*Rodman lead the league in rebound per game for 7 consecutive seasons.*
*Rodman is a career 13.1 RPG player, 4.8 OFF*
*Rodman shares the NBA Finals record with 11 offensive rebounds in a game. He did it twice in 1996 NBA Finals*
*Wilt Chamberlain is the only player to win more rebounding titles*
*Rodman averaged 18.7 RPG in 1991-92 season*
*Career high 34 boards, twice*

BEN WALLACE
*Defensive Player of the Year*
*....................?*

As much as Wallace wants the board, Dennis wants it a little bit more.

Ben's willing to fight for the rebound. Rodman is willing to die for it.

And I mean that literally.

I'd pick Rodman 100 times out of 100. He put his body on the line and worked harder than anyone on the court just to get a rebound. He didn't care who he was going up against, how good they were, or what accomplishments they had, Rodman wanted the ball more than anyone and more importantly, wanted the win.

Observations:
Rodman's hustle is legendary. He hit the boards in a manner that we may never see again. Ben is not in his class as a rebounder.

Stats:
Only thrice in his career has Ben Wallace has a TRB% of 20. Dennis did it for 10 straight years. For 9 straight years Dennis ended 30+ of his teams defensive possessions that featured a missed shot by the opponent. On multiple occasions he ran that percentage to a full 1/3 of them.

As a rebounder, not a defender mind you, Ben Wallace should compared to Jayson Williams.

Rodman.

Now I would have enjoyed seeing a rebounding drill between prime Wilt, Moses, Rodman, Barkley, and Bill Russell. Interchangeable, like "King of the Court", but instead of going 1 vs 1 and scoring a basket, they have to rebound a missed shot. That would be very nice. We would have seen their true strengths and weaknesses as rebounders.

To play a little devil's advocate,

Stats rarely tell much of the rebounding story. This skill may be the hardest to translate into a box score. Good rebounders tend to play for good rebounding teams. All the front court share the load and they often never reach double digits as individuals. So, I don't buy the arguments based only on the numbers.

Still, Rodman was even more of a specialist than Wallace. Wallace did things like anchor the defense and block shots on the help side. Rodman defended his man, iritated him, and studied the way the ball bounced for the shooters in the league to pull down the board. Rodman wins, but you wouldn't know that from the stat sheet alone.

No one had more of a desire to get the rebound than Dennis Rodman. He would literally sacrifice his body just to get the damn rebound.

Dennis Rodman is the better rebounder between the two, and that goes for hairstyle also.
