no, he played more of a SF in the playoffs. Artest was listed as the SF, but he played like a SG in the playoffs. He handles the ball a lot. Bonzi got to the rim more and posted up= Forward stuff.
But being a SG or a SF doesn't matter if your just a baller
i think its a good prediction to think he will take a one year deal and look if he has better luck in the next offseason for a bigger deal.
its probably the highest wells can aim now, and teams would be getting a contract year bonzi -good thing-. i dont know if houston can offer MLE, but either there or orlando sound nice fits. interesting thing is he'd play completely different roles on those teams -complementing seasoned veterans or leading youngsters-.
btw, hilarious the way someone got owned in this thread.
The problem for Bonzi is, money's going to be tight next season. This may have been his last chance for more than the MLE.
I don't see Orlando going after Bonzi, because they're a young team and he's kind of a ****. Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if Bonzi winds up taking Detroit's LLE for one year.

Speedy/Lue
Joe Johnson/Childress
Wells/Marvin Williams
Josh Smith/Shelden Williams
Zaza/Lo Wright
That would be a damn good defensive squad.
Since we are still 10 million under the cap we could sign him to a 1 year 6 million dollar deal. Develop Marvin without the pressure of starting.
Isn't part of the reason the Hawks didn't care about getting players in return for Harrington the fact that they want Williams to start and develop more quickly?
Bonzi is a weird player and teams won't bite because they don't know how to use him.
His problems:
1) He can't shoot. As a result, a team like Denver, who want to open up the middle, cannot use him. It also hurts him in INdy and Orl because they want the inside open for their bigs, not some big guard. Teams that want to bang inside, want to bang with a big guy.
Mobley cannot score or rebound like bonzi but he is a player with infinite more value because he can be a traditional SG that coaches can easily fit into their plans.
2) He dominates the ball. Normally guards who dominate - Kobe, TMac, Wade, Arenas - stretch the D, play on the permiter and inside, socre from all over and generate excitement. Wells plays more like one of these black-hole pf players, i.e. Randolph, which is usually limited to pfs and they only get ot stay because everyone wants an inside game.
3) He is old, we all know what he can do. Nobody in the legue thinks - let me get Bonzi and we'll make him great. We've seen Bonzi "great" and the upside just isn't worth taking away minutes from guys who may move further "up". If you are indy, do you give Grangers minutes to Bonzi? Neither do I.
Do you know where he belongs? Memphis. With Gasol's injury, they have lost their only focal scoring player. Bonzi can be that guy. too bad he has worn out his welcome there.

No, Artest played PF in the playoffs, and Martin played SG.
That was a good lineup too--
Bibby
martin
Wells
Artest
Miller
I think Artest should get more time at PF, he can defend that position (usuall) and is too quick for them on offense. If Thomas, which is the same hight as Artest, can play there, why not Artest?
