Around mid Feb. until the beginning of March, I'll be in the Philippines (Cebu City two weeks, Manila a week and a half) on business. The last two trips I made there last year, I was unable to see any other part of Southeast Asia outside of Cebu/Manila due to time / work constraints.
This time around I'll have a good four days to visit somewhere within reason and within company budget (anything over a set amount I will be paying for out of pocket). I'll have an entire Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, arriving back in Cebu City mid-day Monday and going back into work Monday night around 9 PM.
I've already been to Singapore, Bangkok and Tokyo. Enjoyed all three, but this was more of a family trip a good 10 years ago (my uncle who lives and is now married to wife who is from Hat Yai, Thailand, and they invited us to visit them). I'm still leaving Tokyo open as an option as I'd love to go back there and spend some time alone doing things on my own accord.
I think I'm leaning towards Hong Kong, but leaving my options open. I don't care to go back to Bangkok, I'm sure it'd be mad fun, but I'm sure my girl would think something’s up too. I've spent enough time in Manila on my last two trips, and now that I've pushed the company to give me time away from the Philippines personal wise, I'm ready to see something else while I'm over there.
