Default Sam Cassell

Cassell was traded from the Celtics to the Kings for a conditional 2nd round draft pick. Thoughts?

i'm skeptical an almost-retired former champion would really be that excited to play with a bunch of young guys with little to no chemistry - if he is involved in another trade, which is possible i suppose, i hope it's not a disappointing trade...kings fans don't need a disappointment from our GM right now

as a side - that's the furthest out i've ever seen a draft pick in a trade...

Exclamation Re: Sam Cassell

Well he is a KINGS and he has not been put on waivers ( last I heard).
He does not want to play for a team that is not a contender.
He is old ( for basketball) and we do not need him.
I am going to miss one of the players traded to Chicago ( not Miller).

I don't really understand this trade from the Kings point of view. Cassell was pretty much in just sitting on the bench in street clothes for the Celtics so far this year, and the Kings already have a veteran back-up in Bobby Jackson. This trade just doesn't make sense unless they want him for his leadership so help guide Beno..

Additionally, Sacramento waived guards Quincy Douby and Sam Cassell.

The received some cash from Boston. They're really looking to save money.

Cassell can't really play anymore. He's just thinking about becoming an assistant coach by next season
