Default JO back tonight? Larry Hughes inserted to starting lineup?

Suspicious!

According to the toronto star Larry Hughes is listed as a starter for tonights game. He's started 6 games all season, 1 since november.
Can you say showcase!

It also looks like JO will lace them up.

Guess this rumor (that didn't appear anywhere credible) may have some life to it.

Incidentally; I have been looking at larry's stats. They are pretty good. His field goal percentage is atrocious (but a more telling stat for me is points to field goal attempts), but otherwise he maybe can bring a lot to the table. He is definitely a good defender. Lead the league in steals a couple times. This season he has been pretty solid when he gets the minutes. Plus he expires in 1 1/2 years.

This trade is growing on me. As long as they sweeten the deal with one of their other under developed players. I'm thinking Noah because we need to get a big body in return and perhaps a swapping of 1st rounders to help us move up a little.

According to Triano on the radio JO and Calderon are still out for a couple of games.

He's not always right 100%. Perhaps he was told late yesterday O'Neal was ready to go but the staff changed its mind.

I wanna see Larry Hughes' game.. haven't seen him play in a long time.

his shot selection is pretty bad.. but if he knows he's role , then he can do well

It is now the headline story for the star sports by doug smith.

"As early as tonight, Raptors big man Jermaine O’Neal is going to be ready to play and coach Jay Triano is going to have to deal with the elephant in the corner". Talking about JO - AB controversy.

Rogers sucks.

If you don't want to switch.
A friend told me that if you call rogers, complain and mention you are seriously considering switching to Bell they will offer you some significant incentives to stay.

That's the best way to get anything from Rogers, just threaten to give up their service. For example if you call their "customer service" line (and I use the term "service" loosely) they use those silly voice-prompt systems instead of a touch-tone system. Well if you want to get straight to a human voice, just say into the phone "I want to cancel my services" and you'll be immediately cued up to talk to an operator. Works every time.

The bolded area above does not say he will be starting, it simply says that he'll be ready soon, and that 'soon' could be as early as tonight. You also chopped up that quote pretty nicely. The full context:

"Some day soon, as early as tonight if what he was telling people last weekend comes true, Jermaine O’Neal is going to be ready to play and the coach is going to have to deal with the elephant in the corner"

Also, the headline on The Star is:

"Calderon, O'Neal grounded"
"Jermaine O'Neal and Jose Calderon won't play when the Raptors host the Chicago Bulls tonight and are unlikely to be active Friday in Indianapolis because of knee and hamstring injuries, respectively, that have sidelined them for most of this month."

Your second link shows AB starting.

They just changed it recently. The story header was something along the lines "O'neal could return as soon as tonight"

They must have changed it because of what triano said on the radio.

I did no editing or chopping.

The blog post that the headline was attached to is still up.

Who knows: maybe they know Chicago is already on board with the trade. Why risk reinjury? Maybe it's better to let him stay on track so that he can pass his physical.

Earlier you were saying that O'Neal was starting and that was evidence that we are going to trade him for Hughes. Now you're saying he's not playing and that is evidence we will trade him for Hughes?

You must really want Hughes here

LMAO....leave him alone I want it to happen too. We've got to get the team together by late february. Our turn aournd is coming in March when the sched is much easier. I say wait a little longer maybe till the start of Feb see what trades you have on the table and then pull the trigger.

1. "I" never said JO was "starting". Doug Smith said JO may play tonight - that was what he said this morning, not what he is saying now.
He also never said starting.

2. I'm not sure about Hughes, I am just anxious for this team to make a move and I don't think this one would be horrible. Particularly if we got Noah included with Noc and Hughes. I'd rather we got something better, but I'm not sure there is something better, especially if JO is the piece we are moving.

New Lineup
Calderon Ukic
Hughes Parker
Nocioni Moon
Bosh Graham/Hump
Bargs Noah

It looks better than what we have now.
